so in correlation with the sprinklers... how often should i water the foundation? it has it's own zone attached to the sprinkler system.

I always water my foundation once a week during the summer when it is really hot and dry. I would do it once a month for 30 minutes year round. I know there are sprinkler experts here, I am not one, just my .02

You're simply wasting water if you use the sprinkler system. The vast majority of the water will evaporate before it gets absorbed. That's why most people use soaker hoses. It applies the water directly where it is needed (at the perimeter of the foundation) and does it at a slower rate which prevent runoff and let the ground absorb more.
Sprinklers will work but you need to run them longer or more often. I usually run my soakers for 10 minutes a week.
