I got my furniture delivered today and got it arranged. Finally looks like a warm, comfortable living space that's fully functional. I was really having a hard time with the layout because of the fireplace and TV being on opposite walls.

The theater chairs I had were great to lay on, but they broke the room in half, no matter how I arrranged them. Also the layout was terrible if more than a few people were over at once.

But I finally got an arrangment that flows pretty well and makes the room open up nicely, and brings the fireplace and the TV area together. Those chairs in the rear of the living room are comfortable as hell, and they recline as well!

I have some finishing touches in mind, with a wedge shaped end table to go in between the two chairs... and maybe a couple of well placed lamps.

Let me know what ya think! I kinda like the way it's turning out.

I think you need more shit hanging off the all :smashfreakB:.

But really looks good. If we didnt have so many damn animals we could have some nice furniture that would last.

To tell ya the truth I am really not one to just clutter up the walls needlessly, but then again, they don't look good BARE, either. Those little starfish thingies, I used to cover up a hole were some wires came through for the surround speaker. I am going to get rid of them next....

Rooms to go? I had this couch when living with my ex. It was durable as two dogs were all over it.

Make sure you stock up on the cleaner they gave you! However you should get unlimited bottles in the future. For future reference if you get a spill that leaves a water stain line put the clear on a cloth and blot it. Afterwards use a blow drier to dry it manually or it will still leave a water ring.

Looks almost identical, even the pillows. If I was still in touch with the ex I could have got you some. Furniture cleaner that is!

I like it Chris. The blue wall is nice too, adds a pop of color.

I love those kinds of couches, you can take the pillows off and have a nice place to sleep visitors and such....

the starfish need to go. Something more of a metal work, like copper or something with some patena (sp) would look nice up there to cover those spots you mentioned. The rest of the wall art looks good. It is nice to see a "bachelor" pad with something done to it. :)

I like to think it's the lesbian in me that ignites my flare for decorating, lol..

And, those starfish are gonna be gone soon. I amn giong t have my contractor buddy make the kitchen entryway into a slight arch, and he can patch the hole behind starfish # 1...

I have the same ceiling fan. Its a monster with the 6ft blade span. Also noticed the John Mayer Bluray playing on the screen. Great DVD.

Personally I think the accent wall would flow better if it were a dark brown or a burnt red or a darker earth tone that follows the rest of the color pallette you have going. The blue still works with the artwork and all.

Not going to get all Feng Shui on you here but I would consider hanging the display on the wall and lose the ent stand and try and hide everything else. It will make the room seem larger, less cluttered and lend a certain contemporary feel.

Also consider losing the hanging blinds on the french doors and get the IG elements with the internal mini blinds. They dont swing when you open and close the doors and look more modern

Overall I'm digging it though.

I have that same blue accent on all my southern walls... office, master bedroom, front entry way, and the living room wall. I really like the blue. What's cool is that the color scheme transitions from the blue/yellow/orange colors, into the earth tones in the back section of the room, via the large artwork pieces, and the candle sconces.

The TV is a DLP so it's not going on the wall..

Those blinds are attached at the botton of the door and don't move when I open and shut them..

Here are some better pics of the chairs. they help out with the stone in the fireplace as well as the painting above it. I need a rug in that area, and a wedge shaped table to go in between the chairs. I need to find a lamp that has a base on the floor, then droops out over the corner of the couch, and both chairs..

Okay Chris, I can say that I do not like the chairs. Too retro for me. But I will say that you do have that "girly" eye for matching things up.

I also want to say that the blue on the walls add a nice punch of color. If you went with any of the browns, reds, etc. I would not set things off like that blue does. (not that my opinion matters in the least....)

Talk to you later!

you need a bigger tv stand. got mine for $236 brand new. has a part for the center channel speaker that makes it hidden. still need to get my other speakers mounted. Have a Polk surround set and Pioneer reciever. TV is a 46, and I should've gone with a 52. bought the Rocketfish wireless kit for the rear speakers and it works awesome.

Didn't realize this thread was still breathing..

Why do I need a bigger TV stand?

Nate... what's the love sack? I don't know where I put it, lol..

Dana.. people have commented about the chairs when I sent them pictures, but upon seeing them in person it is obvious why they make such good sense, especially in MY living room. They are comfortable in ANY position.. and the color scheme is perfect for the transition of the color tones.

Dixie Wrecked... that green thing is a shade, and was there when I moved in. It is going to replaced wih someting else.... maybe a solar screen. I took it down when I first moved in, because I think it SUCKS. but quickly stuck it back in there when thje afternoon sun set in, lol...
