Jose and I had been talking about doing something like this via google docs. But, before we can get a document up for everyone to update real time, we need some information on who, where, what kind, and how much the ammo is in the metroplex - each time you guys pick up a box, stop by a list the price to help other dfwstanger's out when they are buying theirs. I'll work with everyone else to create a standardized document we can update and keep current. However you guys want to do it, type out the amount paid, or scan in a receipt. Once we get a few posts with ammo we'll get it rolling.

They also have an assload of 7.62x54R Brown Bear FMJ and SP, about 15$ per box of 20, if anyone besides me shoots that anymore.

They still have a lot of 7.62x39 Brown Bear also, not sure on the price though.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, last time I was there they still had quite a few AR-15 30rd mags, but they are 30$ each.

They have some Remington .223, but only in the 20 round boxes, 15$ each.

I have never in my life not found ammo for any of my firearms. Always hit up bass pro, cabelas, walmart, academy, dicks, MGS, CTD, bachmans, etc

yes they are 50 rounds. I picked up 150 .45acp tonight at wally world. Also picked a few 20 pk of Remington 55gr .223 for $8.47. I also bought some 100 rd packs of WWB .45acp for $29.97 last week.

For me, the hunting ammo is cheaper than FMJ. Plus if you want to go to the range, its better to walk in with non FMJ because most local ranges don't allow FMJ to plink with. I don't see the problem you describe.

Academy in Mesquite had about 4 boxes of WWB 45 acp for 41.99 yesterday.
Blazer 45 acp at 19.99 a box, there were probably about 30-40 boxes of it on the shelf, and a few boxes of monarch at 16.99 a box.

Correct, this Cabela's is about 20 miles south of Austin. As I stated, there were just as many, if not more customers (on a Sunday) than I've seen in the Fort Worth store on the weekends. People were definitely buying guns and ammo, just not excessive amounts.

I was up in OK and the prices were a bit higher on almost everything. Did walmart raise prices in TX or they just a little higher. Was like 15.97 for Blazer Brass .45 and 31.xx for the 100 pack WWB???

Went by the Walmart in Grapevine tonight and they were dry for pistol ammo. Walmart by my house had some 9mm, .357 Sig, 380 ACP, and .38 Special +P ammo, maybe about 10 boxes or so. Couldn't find anyone working in the department went I stopped by otherwise I might have grabbed some .38 Special to replace some of what I shot this weekend :( Might try going by there again tomorrow.

When you are out of DFW go to a rural Wal Mart. I was in a rural TX Wal Mart and they had about 3000 rounds of 0.223 maybe more. They had tons of ammo. The run on the ammo store is apparently just a big city thing.

Academy in McKinney had a shit ton of Monarch .223 Steel and Brass. Steel was something like $6.49/ box of 20 and the brass was around $9.99 / box of 20.

I bought some cheapy federal ammo and it was all over the place compared to Hornady. The federal did not have a pointed tip and I think it was affecting accuracy. Not sure if that's possible, but I figure i'll give some remington ammo a shot to see if it makes a difference, or just keep buying hornady.

With the hornady, first time out with rifle, after sighting it in I was shooting within a quarter size area at 100yds.
