If it was about two hours later, I'd be there. Unfortunately the game starts right as I get out of class.

I'll be at the game that Wednesday, though. I'm fucking excited.

I may get a break in training in April and I'll be damned if I stay here in Del Rio while NASCAR and opening day are within a day of each other. I hope I can make it.

eventhough I am still a fan, I am not giving my money to that trash out there. One day I will go to an opening day, even if it has to be for another team. Wonder what Frisco is doing for opening day?

I have a Texas Rangers baseball cap. I wear it out in public when I want to look like a complete douche.

I don't know what to think about the Astros this season...But I will keep optimistic.

For the Rangers, I am hoping that farm system is as good as everybody says it is and we start seeing it in a couple of years.

I don't expect much - there's Roy Oswalt and then 4 stiffs in the rotation. Mike fucking Hamption is competing for a spot - how desperate is that?

Regardless, it's opening day and we'll be in frst place when the game starts.

Baseball needs to die a slow, painful, miserable death. Most boring fucking worthless sport on the planet. I'd rather watch a game of cricket, broadcast by Osama bin Laden, than watch some roided up pussies play a bitch game.

Other than old men, I am one of the few people I know who can watch an entire game on TV....Though I would rather watch it in person or listen on the radio.

My kind of thread. If I want to drift off into a nice nap, I'll turn the TV to baseball. If working out in the garage, I might put it on the radio for background noise. I WILL NOT spend my money on $12 parking, $7 beer, and $5 for a bad hotdog. :censored:

The worst part is, you pay all that money, to go watch the shittiest most losing team in the league!

I love baseball, but I can also see how some don't enjoy watching games on TV. Don't understand watching it live though. The atmosphere is what it's all about. Love going to games even if my team is not playing. I've been to more baseball games where my team has not been playing than any other sport.
As for boring, basketball. I have been to 2 Maverick games and I wanted to gouge my eyes out. Anytime anybody gets any momentum or excitement begins, the opposing team uses one of it's 75 time outs to bring play to a stop. They seem to have an endless supply of time outs to go along with the 20 TV time outs. How the games don't last 4 hours amazes me. It's like sitting in rush hour traffic. Stop, go, stop go. Almost as boring as watching golf. And there is no atmosphere like you get at a football game or baseball game. Basketball may be enjoyable to play, but I can think of very few things more boring to watch.

Nate, if you don't watch baseball due to steroids, you can go ahead and stop watching football too. Those guys are just as guilty. I don't like it either but I don't let it ruin the game for me.

Not at all. Baseball just sucks. There is nothing interesting about it. It's not fun. It's not exciting. Add in the steroid shit, and the fact that the Rangers will never win a championship, and it's a complete and total waste of time, money, and airwaves.

Baseball started going downhill with the DH in '73. It allowed a bunch of old fat bastards to keep playing the game. What if the DH had been around when Williams, Mantle, Mays, etc. were playing? Do folks realize the records that we would have? You think pitchers in the AL would throw at batters if they had to go to the plate? Hell no!

Jr. is back in Seattle, my childhood baseball idol. I'm glad he never got on the juice like half of the Yankees roster. Who knows what could've done if he was injury free though.

I'll be at every game the Mariners play at the Ballpark this year. Junior returning to the Mariners is the greatest thing to happen in quite some time.

Says the dude who has the Cowboys Star in his avatar, home to the most expensive prices on EVERYTHING ever made.

If you're paying $200 for a Rangers ticket, you're a fucking idiot. Even on games that I don't get my dad's tickets for, I manage to get out of there for less than $40and can work my way down to seats that are just fine.

The Cowboys haven't done anything of value in the past 15 years. Not to mention, when I go to a Rangers game I don't have to put up with worthless ass Cowboys fans. I love the Cowboys, but I'll be damned if Cowboys are the 4th most worthless fans behind Eagles Fans, Yankees Fans and Raiders fans.

And the Rangers get on the board first. Dillwood has pitched 2 scoreless innings so far and the Rangers are up 4-0. Salty drove home Blalock and Byrd and Kinsler drove home Salty and Andrus.
