I heard something on ESPN Mobile on my phone about the ad revenues being up on Nascar (enough to attempt for 51 teams to try to qualify) from corporations wanting the "race enthusiast/male 25-52 market.
So..... how did the Ask.com car qualify and is it just an attempt to get more sponsors and backed cars in the top 30.......hell, how many get in the show without qualifying anyway???
$$ rules the world!
:Thinkingof_:
Bobby Labonte qualified 17th, that's how the ask.com car qualified.
As for provisionals the top 35 in car owner points are guaranteed a spot as is any former Nascar champion. Labonte is also a former champion so he'd get a spot if he wanted it anyways.
Nascar is like the flat head screw, They both should be outlawed.

wont argue that.... but since it is racing and I was watching ESPN... figured I would ask about the business side of it...
I made a comment to some folks about what I heard... interesting to find that the sponsor money is stronger than ever in this economy.... same applies to local tracks I bet this year! Kennedale, Denton, Redline, and that Kaufman County track are gonna be packed...... imo.
