Same rules from 2 years ago sb 3000 two kits as long as it has a 23 Degree head, bb 3200 only on kit. Turbo up to a 76mm 3150 and 88mm with air to water in at 3250. This is not far from the weights Brooks sent Clifton he said a 76 at 3000 and a 88 at 3200. If you came out with the way your car was last year you would be one of the top cars. The thing is most cars in the class with these rules only run 5.60 to 6.0. There are only a few that run faster than a 5.60.

I couldn't make it, I was out of town nearly all weekend and slept all day Sunday.
There is NO WAY a 76MM car would have a chance at those weights, (3200?) Hell, at 2950 we've only gone a BEST of 5.4x.
Now, the 88 - bleh, a standard-non-sleeved 88 will run with the crowd I think..
but the only problem is that in legal 9" tire trim, a BB car has already gone high 20's... There is NO reason for a 76MM car to show up, and a "true" 88 will have to be on KILL to come close.
...and.. 18* small block, 2 kits - that's a recipe for a 5.0 car in the right tuner's hands.

I did not come to the meeting because I dont plan on running it but a couple of times this year, my only question is what is the difference between 2 stages and a controller on bb as long as both can pill up high. I guess the weight difference will help slow them down. When is the first race.

Brooks I went off the weights that you sent us in an email....and I actually lowered them a little and tried to get some of yall turbo guys to show up...let's not talk about weight and how it effects cars I know how hard it is on parts. i like running true ten five and to do it I have to add 400 pounds to my truck. so if yall wont to run a program do what you have to do.

If all seriousness, you should just take out the 76mm rules all together. It realllllly makes the rules looked biased toward the nitrous cars. I think you would have to be an idiot or desperate to race to show up with with anything smaller then an 88mm to run that class. Clifton's car is just a freak so you can't compare his performence to any others. Flame on but it's the truth!

If im not mistaken you run true ten five at 3150...and i had a meeting to discuss rules and only 1 turbo guy showed up.... Not dogging you just stating facts.......No I could care less about a 76mm. What I am saying is with the current nitrous rules in place you don't need to list two differant turbo sizes. Just list a max size and a weight for that size and leave it at that. The differance between a good 76 and a good 88 is over 500hp so I don't think 200#'s is that much of a differance for someone to handicap themselves by running a 76. I guess what I am saying is that's like having a rule in KOTH that says a SB with a single stage can run at 2700#'s. It's not a competitive combo in that class so why even look bad by putting that rule in place. I'm not running in the 9" stuff right now but I am just saying what a lot of people are thinking.:wink1:
Oh and no I don't run in truestreet. I gave up on that 76mm combo a longgg time ago in that class. I got tired of getting my ass handed to me! lol

If clifton ran a 5.4xx at 2950 at 3000 he should still run a 5.4xx something. That would put him faster than most of the car in the class last year. If i am correct there where only 3 cars that ran faster than a .50 and that was with the small blocks at 2800 and with the big block having as many kits as you want. Also Brooks what car in 9" tire trim has been a high .20s

Clifton is the only one with a 76mm that aint scared to race. When i first talked to him about running in the class he said he would race at 3100lbs now he is going to be at 3000 when i talked to him earlier today he was happy to hear that. You know that is why we had a MEETING and i said everyone should go so you can vote on the rules. Clifton is okay with the rules so why is everyone that is not running in the class and the one that only goes out in a blue moon to test there car saying something about the rules.

I was thinking the same thing why would you bitch about rules AFTER the meeting. I dont race in nor do I have the desire to race in the 9" class as I CLEARLY stated above so why would I attend the meeting. All I am stating here is you should consider just taking out the 76mm shit. Also Derick I know you can read so what part of Cliftons car is a freak don't you understand? Sure he will race. Who else will though with a 76??? I don't really give a shit and don't feel like argueing with you guy's on this. I simple stated something that would make your rules look a little more like you are promoting parity but do what ever you want. I can't wait to watch all the 76mm cars come running out of the wood works to run in your class. The 88mm rule is great! The 76mm...not so much...end of story....good night.

You guys are killin' me over here - there is only one turbo guy in this thread who is actually, what I would consider, "bitchin" - His car, by definition, is not legal for this class. Now, his dad's car most likely is....He's just voicing his opinion, just as anyone else in this thread would do.
I said above, after I "bitched" that I guess something was lost in the translation between what I was originally told the weights and rules were to what they actually are. Did you see that part?
Now, no one showing up? I don't know about where you guys are from - but for most of us - Redline is ~2 hours drive. I would have loved to have made it, but it was not in the cards for me to make it, I had work to do. (That is building the kits for the very cars that will be IN THIS CLASS!) Right now, as it sits, I know of 3 turbo cars that are legal and READY to run. One of which made test hits on Friday and ran a .55,.57, and a .58. It's legal as it sits, the only thing I am not totally sure of is the weight - but it should be over weight.
Besides, if we just laid back and accepted whatever rules were proposed.. then what? We know what our cars will run, why bother showing up to donate? Especially knowing what Derek's car is capable of, the bird, the red cuda etc.... No sense in bring a knife to a gunfight, right?

Second, where have you seen ME bitch about anything?
Third, I told Kelley and Derick I would run at T/S weight 3100#'s.
Lastly, 3000#'s is a perk for us....we (Eric and I) never asked for the extra weight reduction.
You must not have a fucking clue about our racing ethics. We race for the fun and excitement of it all. Our car has been 5.4x's at 129 many times weighing 2950lbs. We have the fastest 76mm car in the nation by two tenths. Bring on the two kit small blocks and the big blocks. We're not afraid of the others that have been faster. You have to get down the track, before you start talking shit. A big inch small block with two kits is a lot of power....We'll see how the Pumpkin does this year.

Amen to that......seems to me that the TURBO guys live to bitch about something!!!.....ONE...lets count them again...yep still only one.. TURBO guy actually got off his ass and showed up to the meeting to plead his case.....and he got what he wanted......then AFTER the fact....the other so called turbo guys have the gall to get on here and bitch about how the rules were decided when they themselves were either to lazy or just to apathetic to show up and discuss them. If your self valued opinion was not important enough to bring up at the meeting where it may or may not have made a difference....what the fuck would make you think anyone is interested in your opinion now??
Seriously?? Who is bitching? I'm not bitching... Clifton isn't bitching... We are two turbo cars that are planning on running in the class. Who else is bitching? Its like, someone questions the turbo rules and its automatically considered bitching and whining. Most people ask for clarification... Originally you were going to allow 2 kits on a small block @ 3000 and limit a 76mm to 3150? You can't say that isnt at least a little bit fucked up... Ah fuck it, I don't think you understand or much less care to understand. I'm happy with the rules, so I'll show up and let the big bad blackbird drag me up and down the track.

well let me jump in....first off Trevin jumped in because of the other turbo guy's ( not you two ) started in on the rules...actually trevin called me at the shop today and was taking up for you two guy's tunning ability and how fast yall are considering the turbo size. ( NOT TRYING TO START SHIT BUT IN A PREVIOUS POST YOUR CAR WAS CALLED A FREAK BECAUSE OF HOW GOOD IT RUN'S...HE WAS TAKING UP BYE SAYING IT'S NOT A FREAK IT'S CALLED TUNNING. AND MAYBE THE OTHER GUY'S THAT HAVE A 76MM TURBO SHOULD PAY YOU TO TUNE THERE SHIT.... AND YES I KNEW YALL COULD NOT MAKE IT TO THE MEETING SO WE VOTED FOR YOU. I LOOK FORWARD TO RACING ALL TURBOS THAT SHOW UP IN 9 INCH TRIM.

Cliftons car is a freak not Boosted's car. His runs well but not like Cliftons with that 76mm. Treven needs to get off his high horse. Back five years ago when I ran a 76 I had one of the best tuners around put a tune up on my car and it ran .80's at 3,150. This turbo Clifton has is something not a whole lot of people have tried and he is proving it's bad ass. But as Clifton said his car is 2 tenths faster then any other known 76mm car out there at ANY weight or tire. Props to him for testing and stumbling on something wicked!

Allow me to clarify a couple of things......I don't have a problem with Clifton or Boosed....because THEY ACTUALLY RACE I think its cool that Kelly went out of his way to give the little turbos a weight break....a little reward for at least having the balls to show up.....you Mr. truestreet5.8 can kiss my entire ass.....I don't give a rats ass whos car you drive...or what you have for that matter.....by the way when do you do this driving....let me guess....you were the #1 qualifier at the "ain't never won shit nationals".....a good way to keep your ass from getting busted is to just not race ....but you already know that....don't you??.....by the way if you knew diddly shit you wouldn't have a tuner....you would be the tuner......I know....BECAUSE I AM......and there is a stack of winners circle pictures to prove that I know what I'm talking about.....when you get something more to offer me than lip service let me know!!!

You forgot one....
76mm turbos with a KOTH car pushing it 3200 pounds
If all seriousness, you should just take out the 76mm rules all together. It realllllly makes the rules looked biased toward the nitrous cars. I think you would have to be an idiot or desperate to race to show up with with anything smaller then an 88mm to run that class. Clifton's car is just a freak so you can't compare his performence to any others. Flame on but it's the truth!
A Blow-Thru setup like theirs will make the most power with that combo and thats why it works well. Fuel injection would be severely limited on power.

We should be gifted anough to build a completely new combo and car and come out guns blazing with no bugs to work out or anything to work on. :rocketwhore:
We should just go to 7-11 and pick up some sbc parts and a nitrous kit.

I agree... I must say I made it an entire year without blowing my motor up. For a turbo car, that is quite the accomplishment. Who cares if it only ran .40's and went out in the 1st round of TTT5. It stayed together! :smashfreakB:

Best of luck when you do come, its not about having the fastest car, its about winning rounds.....alot of times the fastest cars will kill each other off with the luck of the draw in the early rounds.....mix in the fastest loser coming back and the sometimes marginal track conditions and your chances are probably better than you think.

Sometimes the hardest part of winning a race is to still be running in the final round.....consistant 40's aint slow and mix in some good lights, you will go rounds and probably win a race or two....I think you will do well based on your experience at those "unsanctioned" events you have won.
