Seems they traded Anthony Henry to the Lions, he is a good QB but I would have rather had C.Simms. :(

gotta be better than B.Johnson......I think.

They needed someone like Leftwich who could at least put pressure on Romo to perform better. Romo will not be worried about Kitna ever taking his job. If I could think of the next worst backup QB behind Brad Johnson it would probably be John Kitna.

I've always liked Kitna but they really need to sign a young QB to keep Romo on his toes. They also picked up Keith Brooking from Atlanta.

Really? Leftwich? Leftwich lost the starting job in J'ville because he was hurt all the time. When he came back he was never the same and was cut. He's not going to pressure Romo. Hey, at least he's got a superbowl ring.

So who exactly are going to be the starting CBs now that Anthony Henry and Pacman are gone? I don't think T New can cover both sides of the field.

Out of what is available I don't think there really is a better option out there. Atleast they took care of it quick and didn't wait around and end up with an option like Brad Johnson.

Seriously? Did you see Leftwich come in and play for Pittsburgh? He played in five games and had a QB rating of 104.3! I know he didn't light it up or anything, but he did a great job. The papers in Pittsburgh said big Ben came back before he was 100% because he didn't want to lose his job. Leftwich is about the only one out there that could be a starter for somebody.

Kitna barely broke a QB rating of 80 in 2007, and last year he only played in four games. He's also pretty much 50/50 for TD/INT ratio for his career. Leftwich is way on the plus side for TD's. He's also eight years younger than Kitna. I'm not really a Leftwich fan or anything. Go to NFL.com though and look at the available FA QB's and see if there's anything better. I looked, and there ain't much there when you consider the players that would actually agree to be Romo's backup.

And BTW, losing a your job because of injury is different from losing it because you just can't play. Leftwich lost his job in Jacksonville because of injury, and Garrard came in and played really well. Garrard and Leftwich have similar numbers except that Garrard is a better runner. Leftwich had a lot of hype around him which might have made people expect more out of him than he could deliver. He was a top ten draft pick (number seven in 2003 I think) and was a legend at Marshall. I think he's second in the school's all time records list only to Chad Pennington. He also had that game where he played on a broken shin, being carried down the field by his linemen after each play.

and give me Kitna over Chris Simms and Byron Leftwich any day. One is a has been (if he ever really was), and one is a never gonna be. At least Kitna has been around a while with moderate success.

I do like Leftwich but he also wants to go to a team that has an open competition for the starting job. He is entitled to that right and more than likely won't give until he has no other option. Kitna for his career has been a stop gap in Seattle (Hasselback) and in Cincinnati (Palmer) then went to Detroit where I don't care who you are you are not doing much with what they have had there. The guy is confident and I think the best thing he could bring to the Cowboys is he is professional in his approach for the game. Palmer credited him mostly for being able to step in and produce his first year as a starter. With all of that in mind and the fact that if he is not asked to play 10 games next year for the Cowboys I think it is a win-win situation for the team. He can produce when called upon and as far as contract has a minimal hit on the salary cap.

Henry has sucked for the pass 2 seasons....I would say Jenkins was going to be the starter but he is scared to tackle...So I'm leaning towards Scandrick as the starter.

As far as Kitna...Romo doesn't fear him..Kitna was only brought here as a backup only incase Romo gets hurt again. Unlike Brad, Kitna still has strong arm...so we should be ok if Romo goes down again.

What I'm worried about is Jerry going after Vick...I think Vick should be allowed to play again but just not in Dallas.

This is just fucking retarded, on so many levels, it's not even funny. I get more pissed the more I think about it.

First - You don't trade a starter for a washed up backup, ever. You don't even pull shit like that on Madden.

Second - They need to be preparing for the release/trade of Roy Williams. They came out and said that they were looking to trade, but if he can't be traded, he'll be released. I read an article last week that said Henry had stepped up and volunteered to play safety, once Roy was released. So they go trade the one guy on the team that's willing to play safety? Ignorant!

Third - Kitna was going to be released. Why in the FUCK do you trade a fucking STARTER, for someone that's going to get released anyways? Why not hang on to the starter, and pick his Jesus loving ass up after Detroit releases him?

Fourth - Could they seriously not get more for Henry? I know he's no superstar, but he's a fucking starter. No picks? Just a straight up trade? That's just fucking stupid. Stupid stupid stupid.

Jerry needs to let Stephen take the reigns, as far as GM duties go.

Cutler isn't all bad, but part of the reason he threw for so many yards was the lack of a running game. Denver had 7 of them put on IR last season. He just pisses me off when he gets all pouty and tosses INT's, then goes to the sideline and looks like he wants his Mommy.

i think kitna might have the leadership abilities that romo lacks, sure he gets along with everyone on the team but there is nobody out there willing to stand up and crack down on those guys when times get rough, its the same way on defense we need a Ray Lewis or some other good leader to grab the guys by the balls and make them play

If you look it up the hard cap was completely effective in 1994. As you know I am not a Cowboy fan, just trying to keep things going.
