All of the other kitchen appliances are whirlpool stainless steel. I keep coming across reviews about how bad the whirlpool fridges are. Are they really that bad? Looking for something really good since my parents are offering to buy me one:)

What do you have?

What do you recommend?

Didn't give me a limit but didn't want to ask for a sub zero.

Don't think craigslist comes with a warranty. Not looking for a "bargin" either.... want quality.

Sears is doing 20% off on Kenmoore right now.

Funny you made this thread. The house i'm thinking about purchasing is all stainless WP and no fridge. Hopefully when the time comes i'll do a search lol

Measure your opening before you buy. I helped a friend put in a new fridge his wife picked out and it was 4 inches wider than usual. It took some trimming and a shoehorn to get it in. I love the fridge too. Being wider it seemed to have more usable space that a deeper one. It was a Whirlpool stainless.

If I am correct, Kenmore is a Sears owned brand that uses several manufactures. Whirlpool being the main one.

BTW, I have no problem with Whirlpool. I've never had a problem with mine. I'm planning to replace it with a Kitchenaid..

When shopping around for a fridge, I found out that the lower end Kitchenaid fridges were based on the exact same chassis as lesser Whirlpool fridges. It just has more features. However the higher end Kitchenaid fridge shares components with Jenn-Air.

I tried to use Jenn-Air appliances in my new homes, and from my experience, they're junk. I went back to the Frigidaire "Pro-Series"...
