Did you start with saltwater or did you do the conversion?

I'm thinking about doing it to mine.

Do it, it's so much nicer in a salt water pool. Our old house had one, and I really liked it. Much easier to keep the pool at the correct levels, doesn't give you prune fingers as fast, no chlorine smell when you get out.

How much does it typically cost to do the whole conversion and get it going? I haven't looked into it too much yet.

If I remember correctly, somewhere around $3000. From everyone I know that's had it done, they all say it's well worth the money due to ease of maintenance alone.

Do it do it do it do it do it.

It's a one time cost that will save you so much $$$ and time in the future it's not even funny. Should be in the 2-3K neighborhood installed.

What is borax? Is that the "non-chemical" stuff?
