I've seen many people lose their IT jobs recently due to outsourcing, and am thankful something is being done to slow this trend.

The news comes at a time when many Indians already suspect the U.S. is trying to put a squeeze on the country's successful outsourcing industry. Each year, the American government hands out 65,000 H-1B visas, and Indian engineers receive many of them. However, as part of President Obama's economic stimulus package, Congress passed provisions to bar any U.S. company that receives bailout dollars from directly hiring workers on these H-1B visas.

That is great news!
From a business standpoint I can see how outsourcing benefits the company. Hell I've worked along side many outsourced employees and most are very intelligent people, however it is nice to see that there are now incentives to bring jobs back.

Yea, that program has been overly abused. The Clinton and Bush administrations both turned a blind eye to those abuses...

Question...
If you are working a legal job on a legal visa are you paying taxes?
Cool, now put some money in it to do an illegal alien roundup. I'm talking about calling up the entire National Guard of every state, DHS, ICE, FBI, CIA, NSA, every police force out there and do a week long sting.
It'd promote interagency cooperation, help fight the war on terror and it'd stimulate the hell out of our economy. We could relax on health care reform, have a huge victory against the drug cartels and there would be more jobs available for unemployed Americans.
Do it twice a year or as often as necessary!

In all honesty I don't see why we can't report illegals to Crimestoppers or some such since they are technically breaking the law.
I know why we don't, but I still think it should be an option.
The key word in that blurb was "Directly hiring H1B's" most companies use a "Shell company" to hire them. So company X pays the Shell Company and the H1B never shows up on Company X's payroll.
