are the rails the same? will a rail light off an xdM fit on a xd?

I dunno but I was just at the gun store about 15 minutes ago. I really like that XDm. I think I am going to pick one up.

they should be the same. I read the only really big difference was how they stack the bullets in the mag, allowing for a really high capacity. It is cosmetically different, but basically the same.

I maybe mistaken, but I think the XDm based on the .45 frame which is slightly larger.

Rails are the same. The differences are higher capacity, match grade barrel, shorter trigger reset, slightly different grip. I believe that's it.

XD45 Compact set with 3 extra 16rd mags for trade for XD9 5" in two months.

Not buying into the "M" my XD9s run great and don't feel like buying more extra mags for a different kind of pistol. If you have neither than get the "M", I have 2 XD9s and buying more.
