sthil is more commercial duty . echo is for the weekend tree triming homeowner.

Many chainsaws seem to use the stihl "model". Craftsman, poulan, and others. Look at the bar that protects you from the chain and you'll see. I even have a crappy poulan "wild thing" (the worst chainsaw ever made apparently although it works fine for me) and it has the same bar.
