You're about 2 months too late....
The Cowboys have bigger fish to fry right now, like getting Ware's deal done.

I think they should pursue Dre Bly. He's not the greatest thing since sliced bread, but he could help improve the secondary.
Another thing, is they won't have to worry as much about Roy Williams blowing coverage next year. They are moving him to LB from everything I've seen.

Dre could have survived in Denver if they had any kind of pass rush. Hell, nobody can cover for 6 seconds on every fricken play! He could do well in Dallas.

I would also like to see Ray Ray here... I know he won't become "the heart and soul" of the team, but he could definitely bring some fire and I think he can still play.
Interesting interview with DeMarcus Ware where he mentions Ray Ray:
Obviously, the Cowboys and your agent have been in discussions about a new deal, one that figures to be the biggest in franchise history and should make you the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL. What are your thoughts on all of this?
WARE: I try not to look at it just yet. What has got me here is me just staying humble and playing ball, and not thinking about those things. You let the guys you hire handle those things - your agent and Jerry Jones. I feel like if you work hard all season, that's my job. My job is to sack the quarterback and be a leader on our defense. That's my job and what I've been doing. Now is the time for Jerry Jones and my agent to get something worked out.
What would that mean to you to be the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL?
WARE: You can't even describe it right now. You see it all pay off. You can really help your family and things you've wanted to do, but also you feel more comfortable with the team that signed you - you know you're the guy. But you have to step it up another notch.
A-Rod said the pressure really got to him. With a new contract, how would you feel afterwards. Relief or more pressure?
WARE: I think it would be a little more relaxing because you're locked in now. Now, when it comes to pressure, my job is all about pressure - literally. I feel like I'm that guy that's going to get that pressure. Pressure isn't a problem. When it's third-and-12 and that pass-rushing situation, it's time for me to shine - that's what I live for. Pressure is not really a problem.
Four years in a row you've said in the off-season you're trying to improve your sack numbers every year. Now you're sitting at 20. Can you keep improving?
WARE: You have to improve every year. With those 20 sacks is going to come a little more responsibility. Now they're going to start scheming for you a little more. They're going to start putting more guys on you a little more. Now what am I going to do? Am I going to just stay the same, or try to find a way to put pressure on the quarterback even though they're doubling me every play? There's always room for improvement and it's all about being consistent. It's not easy to be consistent in the NFL.
Were you the one down in Hawaii recruiting Ray Lewis to the Cowboys?
WARE: You know, actually, when we played Ray Lewis and Baltimore at the end of the season, he came over and pointed to my helmet. He said, "I want to wear this star on my helmet, that's my dream . . . that's my dream." When we got to the Pro Bowl, he did it again. He came at me every day. It's a great opportunity for him. His door is open. He's an unrestricted free agent. He's trying to get down where the star is. He told me he needed me to get him Jerry Jones' phone number for him. I just busted out laughing.
Do you think he's genuine about the Cowboys or is he just trying to get the Ravens to realize that he's thinking about leaving?
WARE: I think he is genuine. Believe me, he is genuine. He talked to me before he became a free agent. He talked to me two years ago about it. He calls me about once a week and talks about it then. I even said, "Hey, Ray, I'm tired about talking about this. You need to find Jerry Jones' number and fly out there and talk to him."
So when he calls you, what does he say?
WARE: It's just the same stuff. He says things like "D-Ware, I need to get down there. You're the pass-rush guy and I need to play with you. Just call Jerry for me. Just call him. Just call him." Stuff like that.
There has been some talk about Lewis coming here and adding leadership. If he were to sign with the Cowboys, could a guy like that come into this locker room and instantly become a leader?
WARE: I think he could. Some guys are born to do things. He's a leader like that. Sometimes, certain guys follow certain guys. He's a leader. I think it would be great for him to come here. I wouldn't have a problem with it.
You have said that you might be more vocal this year. Can you elaborate on that?
WARE: I think it comes on the first day of working out. It's not about talking. It's about pushing guys to the level that you feel they're on the same level as you. You get out there and they say, "Hey, DeMarcus isn't kidding around. I need to push myself to do the same thing." If you start from working out, then the OTAs and then training camp, guys are going to start listening to each other and really wanting it, because they're going to see that you're out there busting your butt every day. That's where it starts. It's not about being vocal as much. It's gaining confidence and chemistry with each other.
What are your thoughts on Terrell Owens and this so-called negative effect that he has on the team?
WARE: You know what? T.O. doesn't have a negative effect on the team. A lot of guys say T.O. is this or that. But at the end of the day, he's a great leader. He's a great player. He makes a lot of plays. We have to find a way to get him the ball. He's a great player. Anyone can see that. He doesn't get doubled for nothing. He makes a lot of difference on this team.
Are you ready to put last year behind you and go forward?
WARE: That's all we're trying to do. Last year, we had a lot of leaders, but not a lot of followers. So, we've got to have guys who can follow the key players on the team. And that comes in the off-season. You can't be slacking, you have to be at every meeting, every workout. For some of the guys that don't come work out, you have to do it. You have to come to the OTA's, you have to come to all that stuff to have an 11-men-as-one team. If you don't, no one is going to respect you when you start talking, because you haven't worked as hard as them in the off-season.
What are your thoughts on the Pro Bowl moving to the mainland next year and away from Hawaii?
WARE: It was sad to play in that last game. There's always the opportunity to explore the market and see how things will go over here in the states. There were a lot of disappointed guys because usually the guys look forward to getting away and spending time with their family. Now some of the guys, maybe some of the Florida guys, if they play in the same city, it's going to feel like they're actually going to work for those days and then just going straight back home. There won't be any reason to stay in a hotel.
And since the game is also being moved to the week before the Super Bowl, it's probably a game you don't even want to play in next year.
WARE: Yeah, because they told us that if you're going to play in the Super Bowl, you won't play in the Pro Bowl. I don't know if I like that. But that's the way it is. But if that's the rule, then I don't want to be playing in the Pro Bowl, for sure.
Is the intensity the same in the Pro Bowl as any other game?
WARE: Not really. A lot of the guys, the Super Bowl guys are just getting off the game and fresh, but a lot of the guys are off football for a few weeks. They're not ready for the impact and all the running again. The guys want to come out there and make sure they don't get hurt. But you do feel that adrenaline of playing against the best in the game. But of course, taking care of each other is a big part of things.
In your mind, what is the best part of the Pro Bowl?
WARE: I think the best part is really just spending time with family and hanging out with the other guys. Some of the older guys I looked up to. Good to meet them and get advice from guys that have been there for 10 or 11 years.
