After watching Event Horizon again recently and my obsession with The Thing, who else can recommend some good Sci-Fi horror films?

Might not be what your completely looking for, but I rather enjoyed Deadspace : Downfall (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1267379/)which was an animated space horror.

I wasn't a fan of Event Horizon. It seemed like a boring, slow space mystery with a few Nine Inch Nails videos dropped in toward the end. It's been a long time since I've seen it though.

Pitch Black is pretty good. Not sure if it falls in that category though... and of course Alien, Aliens, Alien3, Alien Resurection, etc.

i LOVE Event Horizon and The Thing. GREAT horror flick. The thing that really pulls me in for The Thing is the music. And of course everyone turning on each other.

A somewhat cheesy classic is Saturn 3 from 1979.

Before I actually read the post I was just gonna put EVENT HORIZON FTW! Badass movie.
Sphere isn't too bad, and kinda the same premise as Event Horizon. The book is great, as well.
Aliens, obviously.
I just woke up, so my mind isn't exactly 100% right now. I'll try and think of more.
If you like the thing, check out Prince of Darkness. It's John Carpenter again, same sort of music and the usual direction. It's a bit hokey in some parts but the plot is very off the wall if you can get your head around it.

Event Horizon and The Thing are both excellent Sci-Fi Horror movies and I own both of them. The original Alien is also an excellent example of a quality Sci-Fi Horror movie and superior IMO to the sequels.
I probably wouldn't qualify Sphere as a Sci-Fi Horror and I think it's OK at best but not great (book was better and no I do not own it on DVD either). I don't think I would qualify Prince of Darkness as a Sci-Fi, probably more of just a Horror but I thought it was good and own it as well. Not a whole lot of people now of this movie so I always get a weird look when people ask what horror movies I would recommend.
Just a quick bit of trivia. Quoted directly from IMDB to save me some typing.
This is the second film in what John Carpenter calls his Apocalypse Trilogy. The others are The Thing (1982) and In the Mouth of Madness (1994).
I'll have to think for a bit to recommend something that hasn't been mentioned yet. For some reason I'm drawing a blank and this is one of my favorite genres.

I recently saw this too isn't too bad, but I couldn't find it to rent anywhere but got lucky Circuit city had it for 40% off. Its a prequel to the game to is out which I need to get also.

There's obviously a drawing to this genre. Who is up for writing a script?
