We have a large open acre lot with Bermuda. I have not been successful in my attempts at weed control. I bought a pro grade spreader and the Lesco product I bought (5 bags, over $100) had little noticeable affect on weed control or improved grass growth.
Our neigbors use TruGreen and we thought we would inquire on pricing. However their clueless sales people now call us at least once (if not twice) nightly. I wanted to compare pricing on competitors service and told them to call back next week but their dumbfuck sales dept have some communications issues. One night the same guy called us back twice!
So my question now is with a sales force as ignorant as theirs I wonder if their service and product is as bad? They are quoting $127/visit for the .5 acre. and a $200 lime treatment. Are these numbers aligned with the market for this service or ? Who offers a competing service that guarantees their work?

i take over lawns yearly from them, however you should give the products you are using some time to work. if you just put out a pre emerge with no post emerge control the weeds already coming up will not be stopped, but it will stop new seeds from sprouting.
tru green from my experience seems to have mixed results, alot of the results seem to depend on the individual applying the product, i have had customers that we mow for use them for years, then (and it happens alot) when the applicator changes, the lawns seem to take a turn for the worse, i know that they all use the same program but the applicator (who mixes the product for spray) does make a difference.
I used them for a while years ago with mediocre results. You can hit up the Scott's website and sign up for a newsletter that will remind you to fertilize throughout the year.

Find another lawn care company. They would show up regular as clockwork, but the guy would literally sprint around the yard pushing the spreader, and they never did a thing about the weeds. While it takes me the best part of an hour to carefully spread fertilizer around the yard, the trugreeen guy did it in 9 minutes. That should tell you something.
After a period of about 3 years with trugreen my yard was going to shit. So I fired them and do it myself now. Find a local company with owners that are hungry for business and will do you a good job.

thats what I was concerend about, thanks. For $128/visit I can buy a LOT of fertilizer. If anyone knows of a QUALITY landscaping or yard sevice that operates in the Duncanville, Desoto, Cedar Hill area, guarantees their work with references please pass their info along.

Ive used Tru Green for the last nine years and for many years before that when I lived in Tulsa. I've found them easy to work with and they do a great job. They always performed 5 services a year. When I had kids in college and was watching my money, I told them I need to quit them. They worked with me and just did weed control, and I did my own fertilizing.

Oh yeah, they upsell the hell out of their services. You start out with getting the lawn done, then they want to aerate, then do a tree service, then do flower beds, etc. And once you agree to a service it's on there for life.
I got sick of all of the upselling while they were not taking care of the basics.

I used Scott's on mine and with great success. Killed the weeds and the yard looked greener than ever..........granted I don't have a very big yard, but it still worked well.
