Just what I asked...if I did kicks and door speakers would it mess up my front imaging?
Thanks

My question is - how far is the door speaker from the woofer in the kick. Your imaging should come from your kicks, so yes a door speaker COULD cause issues. But, if the door speaker is playing a lower freq. than the kick (less directional) that would be ideal. If the doors and the kicks are run by different amps then just a little level matching is going to be needed. Did that ramble in anyway help with your question?:D

What Rue said is dead on.
If you run door speakers, use a mid-bass driver.
Preferable run off the same amp as the kicks with a good 3-way cross-over.
With a 3-way cross-over there will be no overlay of the freqs from the kicks and doors.

So, think I should sell my 5.25 comps and get a 3 way set?
It is in that Z-71 truck I got. It has a 6.5 in the door...
Would 3 ways sound that much better than 2 ways?
