Exterior doors are tricky in the sense that the eaves don't really protect them from the elements like it would on a patio. Wind-blown rain is the biggest concern for me with my door. Installing it is not a problem unless you have electrical and/or plumbing in that wall. Be sure to use caulk all around the frame and thresh hold, along with really good door seals.

on a side note how much do yall think to have a closet sized room built onto a brick house with slab? would only need to be about 6x4.

I did mine. it was easy. i got a saw masonery saw blade, cut the bricks. then cut the wall in the garage out. put the door in and plumbed it in. it might have taken me 4 hours. i did not have any electrical to deal with. it was an outer wall in my garage.

i would attemped it myself but ive never done anything on a house...only auto. Im unsure of electrical in the area but i know there is a plug down the wall about 5-6 feet from where i want to put the door.

This is more than a 4 hour job if done right.
Did you install a lentil under the brick ?
Did you install a load bearing header above door ?
How did you account for the 1.5 inch brick ledge offset at bottom of the slab ?

My buddy did a 8 x 8 contracted out himself and with everything it came up to right at 7000. This included drwall, carpet, electrical, moving a hose bib, adding an ac duct, retrimming the closet completely, framing, lacing the shingles and brick in, and painting
