Ennis will be open this Saturday 2-7-09 from 11A-6PM with racing starting at 11:45

I thought it would be fun to have any other Mustang owners who are going that want to caravan over there meet me at my shop on Saturday at 10:00AM. We will head to the track no later than 10:15 AM. I will take my blue and silver 93 GT and a friend of mine is bringin is 07 GT. I think it would be fun to have a train of Mustangs take over the streets and draft our way to Ennis. Le me know if oyu are interested.

Here is the address:

I'll be in the black crew cab titan.

How bad will the wind be on that track? It's supposed to blow from 20-30 mph with gusts to 40! I want to go but my little Zcar running at close to 140 mph could get hairy.

Mychael101
02-07-2009, 11:27 AM
Weather.com says 17mph gusting to 21mph. Its coming from the S and the track runs northeast.

My 96 Cobra ran 13.54@103 with a 2.10 shorty. That's with 245/45/17 Direzza's, I was happy. Kinda not bad for a car with 3.73's, catted mid pipe and cat back.....stock engine, 126k miles.

Well guys I had fun after the 3 hours of waiting in the staging lanes!! I met some really nice people out there and Ozzeran you told me you didn't post much, you are a post whore!!! LOL!!

I ran a 12.6 @ 113, letting out the last 120' because the car started bucking for some reason. I had another great 2.0' time. But for only 1 run what can you ask for.

What was with all the GT500's out there running mid-high 13's?

His Yellow S-2000 blew up and as opposed to stopping and pulling close to the wall he just kep coasting down the track spraying oil everywhere.

That's when I packed up and left, what a tool. I hurt my little Zcar on it's first pass. about 800-900 feet out the hyd. roller took a dump on me and the car started shaking hard so I lifted and coasted in from there. Still managed to run 10.11 at 124.22, car will trap 140 so I know it will run a 9.80 if I can get past all the BS that happens every time I go to Ennis.

I go the 1/8th mile tracks and she runs like a champ, she must hate that track and you know how women are when they do not like something or someone...LOL

I was out there in my silver '08 C6 (intake, headers, exhaust, tune). The track efficiency blows. It tooks an hour to get through the tech line of hell, then I only got 3 passes in about 3 hours. Bleh.

I ran a 12.05 at 119mph. I was hoping for 11's, but it wasn't meant to be. Someday...

Sucks about the S2000, I bailed at 3:15 or so, so I guess it happened after that. There was a lot of fast cars out there. You know performance cars are good when a near 12 flat isn't that fast anymore. haha.

The guy in the S2000, it was like his 3rd track pass ever. He admits that the oildown was a huge pain in the ass for everyone since he didn't pull over, and he apologizes for that. But he didn't know any better. That is an Auto-X car which he decided to take down the track a time or two.

He doesn't know anything about drag racing protocol (i.e: When you break, pull the f*** over!). Give the guy a break. He pulled 12.2 @ 116 in it, on R-compounds, which is pretty impressive, then the motor let go on the next pass (d'oh!).

I don't mean this post to be combative in any way, I'm just trying to inform people who are rightfully pissed that the cleanup took so long.

Don't get all butthurt at me about it, seemed like it would be common sense to pull over to the side when your motor blows.

Who was the guy in the gray and black hoodie in your vid? LOL

I had an '05 S2000. They are cool cars, but aren't designed for drag racing. His motor blowing is a good indication of why that is the case.

Ennis needs to be more efficient. It seems like the place is run by a bunch of good ol' boys that could give a crap about whether they get 5 cars through tech in 30 minutes or 30 cars. It seems like half the time I go, I get pissed about the lack of organization and the other half, it seems to run pretty smoothly. This Saturday was a cluster bomb for the most part.

That guy popping a wheelie in his Camaro was pretty crazy. I was in the stands when that happened and I thought it was going to flip over. I'm surprised he didn't blow out his oil pan and suspension when it banged back down.

:baby:

I don't think at the time he knew what happened actually. He said he heard what sounded like a horrible backfire and he pulled the keys. I don't think he realized he left the oil until after the car came to a stop.

Also, I think with the amount of cars at Ennis that day the track "efficiency" was par.

I'm not trying to be a dick to the guy about blowing his motor, I'm sure it sucks. I'm just saying most people there were wishing he would pull his car to the side, even if it didn't turn out to be anything wrong with the car, just to be sure.

what did you not understand?

First opening day of the track season at Ennis. 150+ cars show up and you don't expect wait times to be at least 30 minutes?

As soon as the cars on deck hit green lights the cars in the hole had already started the burnout. :stups:
