Terminator 4. Or 78 movies away from a graphing calculator.
It sounds like the DP had done it before, so there's no excuse. If you're shooting, no one that isn't on camera should move around if they don't have to. It's distracting. If his lights weren't right before he started shooting, he's an amateur. I can't even begin to imagine what they're spending by the minute. Why are they using that DP anyway? He's the guy who shot, "Swing Vote," and, "Drumline," lol.

Maybe the blocking changed and he needed to reset the lights? Maybe the white balance was off so he put a different wash on the bulbs? If it's an outdoor scene anything could have changed. Obviously they weren't worried about time because the director asked him to walk it off. I just think he flipped out for no reason and is totally full of himself.

They set the scene up with stand in's prior, so if the blocking did change, he would have been sent back to his trailer, everything would have been moved, then they would have been summoned to try again.
I agree with him being upset, but he went a tad overboard. He has turned into an arrogant asshole. As an actor it is fucking annoying to have someone fuck up your scene. Especially when regardless if you nail it on the first take, you are going to do that scene several times from a multitude of angles over and over again. Most people dont' realize, the different shots aren't done with mutiple camera's, they just shoot the scene from one angle until they get it right with some stock footage in case there is something that would fuck it up and they missed (such as background noise that you don't hear but the mic grabs), then they move the camera and do it again, and then again. A scene with 2 people talking is usually shot with a minimum of 3 angles, and usually more, depending on the directors vision, where it's taking place, etc.

What a high-strung twat. He's getting paid plenty to do what he does. If its too tough, he can go back to waiting tables.

After reading this, I retract my statement that he over-reacted.

I figured the reason for the outburst may have something to do with the toughness of the scene, but didn't know he had already warned the guy.

I highly doubt the dude just wandered out into the middle of the scene while shooting for shit and giggles. If he really went to "check his lights" then I assume something changed or he got a bad look/read from a visual or a computer. For examper, he noticed something was off on his monitor or on the board.

According to the article I posted, this guy has done this before and appears to be very unprofessional. Regardless, you NEVER do something like that. If something is messed up, wait until the scene is over to adjust.

I can see why the guy is pissed.
I fucking hate doing movie shoots and IM not even worth a fuck.
They're annoying, repetitive, and full of bullshit. I dont mix well with it at all. But I like money, the free food, trips, and beer.
