Hey guys, Im looking for a full time job to last until the end of May and possibly longer. Basically, Im in the hiring process for becoming a police officer and have almost run out of money. I need something to pay the bills and keep my credit from getting fuked while I wait to see if Im accepted for sure (wont know until sometime in March). Im an experienced auto parts person with about 6 years. 3.5 years at Oreilly auto parts and 2.5 years at 2 different Ford dealers. Im honest and hard working and would appreciate anything you guys might have a lead at. I prefer the Arlington area, but depending on pay I am open on stuff. Thanks
Shane

come talk to the hr staff at dallas county and work the jails til you hit the streets with a department. look in all the local city jails as well. it will pay you better than an auto parts store and its going to be decent experience searching and learning a few tips and tricks for when you head to the academy.

^Ft worth
Dont think I want to work at a Dallas jail while trying to get accepted to Ft Worth. Im not sure that would be looked upon in a positive way because anything I do has to be reported to my background investigator.

How would that be bad?

I dont know for a fact that it would be bad, but it just seems like they might look at it weird being two different departments and stuff. I dont really know anything about PD politics so Im trying to play it safe as best I can.

thats like telling a major league baseball player that he shouldn't have played in the minors for a different team.
it wont be frowned upon if anything it is a job (which is what you need) and it will teach you how to search people the correct way and how to talk to people in a way that will get you the information you need to know whether they be combative or cooperative.
its only police work its nothing hard...

Guilty as charged. Used to be on the windshield of my SVO when I worked at 553 in the late 90s as a punk kid.

Shit, I'm trying to remember who you are. Did you have the red Cobra? Yeah, I've been running one for a few years now.

I'd tell you to get a room but the last thing this website needs is more pictures of what you do in one floating around.
