The wood around the chimney is weathered and in need of being replaced.

I think it's about 2ftx2ftx5ft on a roof that you can walk around on, and a 1-story
house.

What is the average cost of getting this done by a pro?

What is the average cost of getting this done myself?
(if I can find a book on how it's done)

This forum has been very helpful for new homeowners, and folks that want to do
things themselves.

Call my buddy Clint. He owns a Chimney business.
Tell him I sent you.

2 Calls and no return calls.

Can anyone else ball park this, or know any contacts to get an estimate?

Is that to replace the wood and paint it, or just replace it and look at it? :) Just curious as you may get a PM from me since mine is looking a little nasty too.

We replace the wood on these all the time. Just a guess without seeing it...

approx 375/400 complete with paint.
