I work next door to a pawn shop, and found a decent deal Saturday.
A slightly used Mossberg Model 100 in a .270, with a Tasco 6X-24X-40mm scope.
$300 dollars. I went ahead and put $100 down on it, and I plan on having it this coming weekend. I haven't had my own scoped rifle in quite a while, so I'm pretty excited. Downside is, it looks someone used one side of the barrel to sharpen a knife with, but that can be fixed.
This weekend is gonna be a busy one, CHL class saturday, sighting in the new
.270 Sunday morning, then hopefully shooting clays part of the day Sunday.

Since you're right next to a pawn shop, if an 8" .454 Casull raging bull ever appears in there, let me know!

I'll sure keep my eye out for another one........
3-4 weeks ago there was one...only reason I remember it was because of the unique largeness of the gun. Impressive.

it's not a great deal, i know. I don't know much about Tasco, or scopes in general, but I know that this one is nothing special. I've got a slightly used Leupold that I let my dad borrow a while back, if I don't like that Tasco, i'll switch, or I may look into a new NC Star, like the one on the Remington 700 .308 in the classifieds.
I consider it a good deal because that's what the gun is new, without a scope. At least I got a scope thrown in, basically.

For the CHL i'll be going to Red River Firearms in Sherman.
To zero in the rifle, I'm going to my employers father's place. He's got a target set up at 100 yards. That should give me a good feel for the rifle.
Why? Wanna shoot?
