View Full Version : American Iron Horse vs. Big Dog
Does anyone have any experience with these manufacturers, with some positives/negatives? I am considering buying another bike and both of these make style that I like.
Thanks

Thanks
I was looking at a used one, I had an intersting conversation with a guy about his Big Dog where he stated that they used an S&S motor and a Baker Trans so even if they went out of biz, you should still be able to get parts for it. I haven't looked into what AIH uses as far as motor and tranny.

the iron motor is based off the evo harley design as is the s&s, revtech etc etc. trannys are all about the same also(till you get to 6 speeds) Ironhorse electronics suck, that is one reason the company went bankrurpt, to many warranty issues with them. when i worked for a exhaust company we made the exhaust for ironhorse, we had a couple of their bikes to test and had several crap out from bad electronics.
