.223 .556

Alright one last question i have searched the net and my manuels,

But im curious, are the Bullets in a .223 the same exact one that you would load in a 556 case.
I know the casing are alittle diffrent but the overall is the same. Is the bullet just seated further in the case on a 556 thx

yes, same .223 bullets in both if loaded with the same weight bullet. 5.56 is designed to shoot slightly heavier bullets and has a slightly longer throat, the heavier, thus longer, bullets are seated deeper to get the same overall cartridge length as the lighter bullets. The 5.56 overall cartridge length is slightly longer than the .223.

True military 5.56 Nato loads are loaded to a higher pressure than a .223 sporting firearm is rated for which could blow up a gun; also the slightly longer 5.56 shot in a tight .223 chamber could cause excessive pressure.... This is why .223 can be shot in a 5.56 chamber without problems but if you are looking for the best accuracy they are too loose for the chamber....

thank you thats what i was looking for, when i reserch the bullet its self had the same dia. as the 5.56 was just curios still a green horn on reloading but im just asking as many questions as i can and reading everything i can find.
