Man I almost bought a 32 on ebay the other day for 2500. Was a basket case but mostley there. I thought wow I would look good riding that. Then I did some research and realized hmmm not so easy to crank, restore and ride. Specially with the ole suicide shifter. LOL Love the look though.

I'll keep that in mind Bucky, maybe you can pm me your number. I want to buy this for a project but I don't know how much to offer, I'm guessing I'll start at $1000 considering its been sitting in the garage for the last couple of years and it is somewhat dismantled. I don't know the first thing about Harley's but I guess I'll learn. this is what I want to do, the before is what it looks like and I want to do something like the after.

GT Dan the ape hanger is just a old school thing. some guys like them and some don't. alot of guys are scared of them it is a differnt ride. but back in the day when you had tall apes it was against the law. and today it still is in some states if you have over 12 to 14 inch apes. i have 18 inch on my fatboy. but i have been riding for almost 20 years.

wicked i like that style. once i sell my Busa next project is a late 60's to 70's FL shovelhead. i will stroke it out run dual plug heads with compression release. dual pig snout intake with twin 42mm carbs. chrome front end, black rims and hubs with twisted stainless spokes, with tall white walls. true duels fish tip long shots. forward controls no floorboards. stretched tanks and stock FL front and rear fenders painted silver and black marble. i will run 18 to 20 inch apes. but until then i'll just run the fatboy with the 18 in apes for now. there is a guy in garland area that has alot of old harley iron. i will try to look him up and pm you the info.

I understand the old school appeal, they look cool but are they comfortable? I guess in my old age, I just dont feel like messing with shit like that... I like sitting back and crusing... :)
I hear ya on the law, one of my buddies was talking about it after they came back from Sturgis.
I guess they cruised into Montana or Wyoming and got stopped because your hands arent allowed to be above your shoulders? He had to lower them to avoid the ticket. From what he described, he had to lean them back and it looked like a ape hanger chopper basstard child... it sounded funny as hell but they went on their way until they cleared the state...
Do you ride around here?
