Ruger MK II - competition target model.
I had my eye open for a used but well-equipped full frame ruger mk ii/iii or browning buckmark. i turned down a few but this had a fair price tag so i jumped on it.
I bought it used from Gun Masters in plano. came with box, manual, and 1 mag. also came with scope mount and brackets.

all i plan on doing is shooting the shit out of it since i cant afford to keep chunking .45 rounds. gave it an intense cleaning and learned how to strip and assemble. anyway, here are pics:

Those are great little guns. You will love it, but get a thumbsaver for loading the magazine. Your thumb will thank you.

I love my ruger mk II, fun little gun. I just hate cleaning them, such a pain in the ass to take that gun apart.

I have the Ruger Mark II. It's been a great little gun. I got tired of hitting bullseye so I started shooting the tacks that were holding the target up. I have had it for about 7 years.

yea, its not fun, but apparently the mk iii is more of a pita.

i took this one apart yesterday and cleaned it thoroughly. it had a few weird steps to it but nothing too bad.

Basically. The one I have looks different, but does the same thing.

I used to have one of those....really good pistol. I added a red dot sight and shot that thing all the time. I do remember it being a bitch to take apart.

I love my old standard.

Shoots great. Lasts forever. Cheap to shoot!!!

Re-assembly is simple once you figure out how to hold it when you put the spring back in.

x2 on the thumb saver... I had to reload every magazine for my wife before I got it.

i got bored so i picked up a 2nd mag and a quick loader and went to garland public shooting range yesterday.

wound up putting 300 rounds through it. the thing shoots like damn all-star.

the gun didn't like the cheapo walmart remington box (550 rounds for $13). i stopped shooting that and switched to american eagle ammo (federal cartridge) and didn't have a single problem after.

My Sig Mosquito reccommends the CCI Mini Mag ammo (I'm sure the higher presser makes the action cycle better than the lower velocity bulk ammo).

I'm sure that's the reason yours does not like the bulk stuff.

Get som CB22 ammo and you have yourself a little close range varmint eradicator!

My .22 likes the Federal bulk ammo from Wally-world, but never would shoot the Remington stuff.

Try some CCI GreenTag in it. Its a nice target ammo that works wonders in my 10/22. Its alittle more expensive, but worth it if you want to get your group size down
