View Full Version : Should I get a better alternator?

Not sure what the stock rating on one is, but should I get the next step up ( 130amp) ? I have a mp3 playing stereo, and a 300 watt amp powering the rear speakers. Other then that I dont have any other electrical drains besides the normal stuff.

i'm bout to get another 130amp for tha gt 2amps and 2 12's drain it alot! i get them ready to bolt on for $100

I think my alternator is going out, I just bought a 1200cranking amps battery ( 1k cold ) and the battery light on the car is still there. Does the 130amp alternator last longer?

Yes! It is better for the total charging system... Alterstart on Ebay sells them for $88! Off Davis and Loop 12 (the shitty part of town).
Easy mod, mine makes 14 volts idling with pullies!

good god! I've been there before, they got us a mini starter for like $75. Cool, I'll hit them up this weekend!

That is them. They are cool as hell, and friendly (yikes!) too!
