When I had the Mustang, I would keep my auto loader between the seat and the console.
If I were ever to get carjacked, I would have to take off my seatbelt. I could unsnap the belt and grab the gun in one motion and come up prepared.

Just remember with today's laws, you have to have it CONCEALED!
So, carry a gun cleaning cloth or hand towel to keep handy in case you have to cover it up...

You plan on shooting it a lot? Its going to get scratched in some way or the other. Just dont drop it, or throw it around and it should be ok.

Buy a cheap Uncle Mikes Pancake Holster, cloth or nylon. On the lower part out of site use a piece of Velcro to hold it when you draw it.

I went to Wally World and bought a cheap 1/2 size 3 ring zipper binder. It looks like a day timer. I took a 2" thick piece of dense foam and cut out the outline of the revolver. I glued the foam to the back cover of the daytimer. Now, I lay the day timer in the seat with the cover closed, but unzipped. It's concealed, and it is also easy to get to. Total cost about $10.00.
