Nick / DFWstangs community,

What is the best method to remove sticker put on my truck? The 'STX' on the side bothers me.

Thanks

this is not my truck, just a reference pic

Razor blades!!! :D

j/k, don't use razor blades. Try a heat gun and see if that helps loosen them up a bit.

eraser wheel... just use a multi-speed drill on slower speed.

works good for debadging too.

recently I totally debadged my Dodge Mega Cab... mother fucker had shit all OVER it... pinstripe from nose to tail, window vent visors , 7 badges on each front door, one on each front fender, and like 15 on the tailgate! Yes, they were all factory. Chrysler likes to use individual badges for each letter/number!

I've used them in the past on factory vinyl stickers, etc. and they work awesome

not really... it's not "done" yet :(

need a back bumper, but still looking for the right deal on one

hopefully the billet tranny goes in in a week or two... then it's time for header/turbo/etc.

here's a couple quick n' dirty (literally) pics I just snapped:

I'm having Mike at HotRodDiesels build mine, but if your buddy is in the DFW area, I would have him call James Northrum at JTT

I am gonna agree with cooter on this method. I had tried the blow dryer and heat gun, it didnt work out so well for me. Id use goo gone and a eraser wheel, I used it to remove the glue of trim on a big old suburban. It took it right off.

thanks Nick, I'll give it a try. I already own a hairdryer. If it doesn't work like I want I'll go get an eraser wheel

Its the guy that did ProjecX diesel... and you too can have it for something like $800 (waste of money in my mind)

Hogue didn't build them... Polydyne in Houston is the one making all of them.

My buddy Curtis datalogged 200* EGT difference on the dyno... and that was with the 3rd gen style header.

Yeah..sorry, that is what I meant to say...it's the guy who built the one for Project X...not the guy who built the truck.

Ceramic coat a stock header and see what temps you get. I just think $800 is WAY steep for a header. I dont think they come polished at that price...could be wrong. I see them on DTR...everyone hates that Hogue guy

I see the mega cab as more of an SUV with a truck bed than a truck with a big cab.

ceramic coating a stock manifold doesn't reduce pressure between the piston and the turbine  nor does installing a $500 2 or 3 piece aftermarket cast manifold!

everything is expensive for these trucks... it's supply and demand. All of the headers are polished.

not everybody hates Hogue... If everyone hates him so much, why does he keep getting free parts and the driver's seat in cutting edge diesel vehicles?

I talk w/ him on the phone fairly often, and he's got some bad ass shit coming down the pipeline. The Cummins world is about to get turned upside down... in a good way!

I don't... mainly because it has a bed and is a truck :p

New engine management software? Perhaps for injector timing/pressure tuning, etc

I'm not really at liberty to discuss, but he's hinted around on it on CompD

he comes off as a smarmy salesman sometimes... but he really is a good guy who has done a lot to bring diesel performance to the main stream.

people just band-wagon against him because it's the popular thing to do
