What are your goals next year? Strength? Weight loss? Muscle gain?

Me personally, I'm 6'4 about 225 right now, I want to hit 245 at no more than 13% but 10% would be better. I don't worry too much about my maxs, but my numbers from my journals are better than last year, but down from around may when I was at my strongest.

Absolutely. That's about where I started last year. I'm good with 10 lbs a year if it's quality. With my new diet, I think 15 is well within reach.

If you are 250 you should be able to do that with no problem, just gotta watch that bodyfat%. A cut 235 looks bigger than a softer 250. You could afford to cut down and look like a beast, then work back up.

Injuries are a bitch. I keep babying my shoulder(rotator), I think it's finally up to 100% again. Haven't drank in a good while. Glad I didn't have to have surgery, just rehabbed it myself.

Would 220 put you in a new class? I bet 500 would be a low end number for you at 220, I would think about 520/700/700 at that weight and 12% bodyfat

I wish I could go heavier on the db's but I work out alone, and getting them up is a bitch by yourself when you go 90% max. We got db's up to 160 at my gym. Of course, they have a layer of dust on them.

Well, i was talking raw numbers so with a shirt i'd have more on the bench.
700/700 really isnt realistic for me this year. I gained about 50lbs on each this last year and it's getting much harder to make gains.

Yes 220 is the next class. I just want to do that weight class in July since i already have the records for police/fire in the 198's. :D

Yeah, I did the math and at 220 with your current strength levels, it would be like 500/660/660 so you are pretty much dead on with your goals.

I want to maintain 170 by the end of the year @ 10%. I had a setback this year that really pissed me off... Tore my right tricep and couldn't do any lifting for 4 weeks, then as soon as I was stable again I got strep throat and lost 7 freaking pounds in a week. I've gotten myself back to 160lbs finally, but it's going to be an uphill battle for a while just to hit par (was at 164 before the strep). Best of luck to all!

In 08 I hit almost 240lbs and decided to change things. I started back into the gym on April 7th and dropped down to 201 in just a few months.

I started adding on some mass and got up to 208 (which is where I am today).

Next year I plan to really hit cardio hard and drop down to 185lbs and start adding mass to get back up to a svelt 205.

I hope to be in outstanding shape before Race War 2009 starts:D

:D I figured dinner was worth probably 500 - 600 calories (4 grilled chicken strips, 1 med. size corn on the cob, 1 piece of texas toast and 1 cup of pinto beans). Beer? 100 calories a piece for a 16oz bottle (400), 200 calories for the 32oz mugs(800) and no idea on the double shots, so we'll say 2000 calories total.

Puking took care of the 2000 calories, plus I figured I burned another 250-400 from the ab workout:D If I could just do this once a day in 2 weeks I'll hit my goal.

I'm currently 6'1" between 185-190 @ 12%bf. Not looking to slim down or anything..just looking to bulk up over the winter and try to cut it up a little before summer starts. Considering the results I've been seeing I'm fairly confident that I can pack on 10-15 more pounds over the next few months.

Ahh cool. I think if you wait around long enough they will do a killer special similar to that but for each year after that you renew its only $99 bucks for the year by paying 2 or 3 yrs up front.

this has allowed me to hit up the gym 32 days straight, 3-4 hrs a day.
Stair Mill for 30 mins a day, 7 days a week, on level 8 really does the body some good.
I'm 240lbs with about 13-15% bf now.
Stronger and sorer than ever!

This year, I just plan on adhering and improving in any which way possible while staying free from any sort of injury.

Truthfully, I have no clue and don't measure BF(even though I have my own set of calipers) or weigh myself.
A lot of people care about numbers, to me...the mirror tells the truth.

Here are a couple of pictures that were taken 3 and 2 weeks ago.
(I have lost and plan on continuing to lose a good majority of the fat on my body).
Unfortunately, I feel I carry a lot of my bodyfat on my sides and chest(fuckin crappy genetics!).

I made great strides last year only to get lazy in teh last 2 months! I went from getting fat with a little beer belly to losing 20lbs and then bulking back up hard core with weight lifting 5 days a week.

So I plan to get the diet back in check and hit the cardio HARD for the first 2 months.

I am currently 6'1" 195lbs around 16% BF. I need to get that back down to 10-11%BF like I was back in September. Cardio and Diet, so simple, yet so hard.... LOL

Just curious because i thought you were around that before. Most of the people ive seen that posted their BF based on their "expert opinion" from the board and in the gym usually have been way off.

Keep up the good work. I lost all my weight and hard work i put in for 7-8 months and im back to 140. (Its noticable) Last night was my first night back in the gym and i have a fridge packed with food. Im ready to get back in the gym and get my diet straightened out!

I honestly could take the time to do the skin fold test,
but I am trying to take pictures each Monday to track progression
and base my progress on the noticable results.
I am back to working again now, and getting 6 hrs of sleep each night, along with 12 hr days and 3hr workouts.

I completely understand that shit. That's the exact spots I retain any fat. Sucks ass. I hate when on of my buddies, who eats shit and works out a couple times every few weeks and has a perfect six pack and could easily compete in some local BB shows, claims it has nothing to do with genetics. You don't have any German or Eastern European in your bloodline do you? That seems to be a common denominator.

LOL The funny thing is I'm lowering mine to around 5 and going more for strength now. Less than half the reps, but the workouts take longer.

How are all you ladies doing????????

I'm hovering at 220 lately, with the lowest bf since 2000. I can't be more than 10 or 11%. I don't think I'm gonna hit that 245 this year or next, changing up my style. Strength is way down due to an abdominal strain that sidelined me for a good while. Not too concerned with it as it had these unforeseen benefits. (Gaining a love and newfound respect for running)

I'm down 135 lbs now. @239 this morning, it's starting to be a body fat % thing now instead of losing weight. I'd like to be 6'3 240 4-5% body fat but thats far off.

4-5% isn't realistic, biggun, unless you're attempting to be competitive BBer.

Haha yea I'd be happy with 10%.
Heres a pic of me today. Lost 30lbs of pure fat and gained alot of muscle in the past 4 months since the last pic. I also go every day to workout now for 2-3 hrs a day unless its sat or sunday and i just do cardio.

Big improvement bro!
Looking good, keep it up.

I am actually attempting to get into the best shape of my entire life, as I turn 30 on December 9th.
Wish me luck, I've been doing 2 a-days for 6 days a week now and plan on keeping it up until my body shuts itself down or I hit the 30 mark!

Here is a picture of me from yesterday:

To be in the 'best' shape, you'll need to throw a little cardio in there, meathead! Haha!

I'd like to bench double my weight and run a sub 4.6 40 again.

As for me, I have a SLAP tear in my shoulder, dating back to May. I've only recently been able to start lifting 'heavy' again in the last month. I emphasize heavy, because I'm hardly able to push 225x3 on the decline. As for the 4.6, I haven't drug anyone out to time me, but I'm agile enough to be satisfied.

That is my idea too! I'll turn 30 in 2 weeks >.<
Just doing 7 days a week almost kills me. Every morning i feel like i was hit by a truck..

GOOD LUCK!

Depends on the type, duration and intensity. If you're training for a marathon or a long triathlon, you aren't going to be able to maintain muscle mass much above your body's natural muscularity. That doesn't mean steroids, it means all the muscle that is added by lifting for size and strength. Everyone's interpretation of 'best shape' is different, so the values they place on muscle mass and cardiovascular endurance are different.

...I'm training for a marathon... the plan was to run one at the end of this year, but I just moved from Tampa to Austin and I just changed jobs. Excuses I guess, but I will still run the Austin marathon on 2.14.09 (or at least attempt it).
