Try www.dragbike.com
They have a discussion forum and a classified forum that are decent. Your best bet is to go with the Suzuki. Hardly anyone drags old CB's cause there are no aftermarket parts. Suzuki built the old air-cooled motors up till a few years ago in the Bandits. I stretched and rodded a 98 Bandit years ago. If you go that route,
www.holeshot.com had tons of parts for them.

X2 on the GS's. Look up bulletproof in the dictionary, and you'll see that 1100cc oil burner..

Yep, and the bandit was an 1157 that can be turned into a 1216 very cheaply. They sold thousands of these so good motors should be plentiful.

No Doubt You Gotta Go With The Gs. There Are More Aftermarket Parts For That Then Any Other Old Skooler Out There. You Can Build Them Small, Or Big I Mean Real Big. 1720 Is Avery Popular Outlaw Motor, Yeah 1720. I Know You're Not Planning On Building Something That Big, But That's Just An Example Of How Bad These Motors Can Be.

I'm not sure if there any "structural" differences between year models.
I'd say pick up the newest, lowest mileage Bandit 1157 you can find!
