i'm sure there was a thread about this some time ago

- The 'strong' guys who put lots of weight on the bench press then leave w/out racking them.

- people working out in jean pants with a tucked in shirt

- fat people on ab machines

... add on

- douchebags standing around observing what everybody else is doing wrong, rather than actually working out...

I can't stand it when fags leave plates on the bars without racking them. And it's not just a certain demographic. I see all sorts of people doing it. Young, old, men, and women.

Other than that, I could care less what anyone else does.

Our gym happens to be a little light on the 10lb plates, yet there was a skinny little guy in there yesterday with 4 of them on either side of the bench bar. He happened to be asian, so you'd think that he could calculate that a 35 and a 5 would get him to the same spot, and he looked pretty noobish to be concerned with drop-sets.

Just one example of the many times I've seen someone lifting something/some way they shouldn't, and the "you're doing it wrong" posters pop in my head.

not much bothers me at the gym but, i hate it when people are on their damn cell phones right next to me when im trying to concentrate. i end up listening to them instead of staying focused. also, when they are on, for example the bench press and their phone for like 10 min and im waiting for them to get done so i can use it.

+ 156082... I wanna yell "get off the FUDGING phone and do some damn work or go the fudge home!" to those used tampon lickers

Has anyone seen the guy that grabs the heavy dumbbells (80+ depending on your or his def of heavy) and uses them incorrectly then tosses them on the floor and leaves them there? If they're too heavy to put down right and too heavy to fucking rerack them then don't use them. Some cock bag I saw once at the gym did that. He grabbed a 80 or 90 then proceeded to do the worst damn tri presses I've ever seen... after he got done he threw it about 5 feet from his person and went and got another dumbbell leaving the first on the floor.... guys were giving him the evil eye until he finally picked up his shit and his accumulated set of about 8 differently weighted dumbells, and left... what and ass face

I can't stand seeing those "strong" guys put so much on a bar and try to curl it, only to rock their upper body back and forth while "curling."

Or the "strong" guys who use so much weight that they have to slam shit when they release.

And ditto on the people who don't re-rack their shit. leave water bottles and towels laying around, wiping down their area after use... shit, don't get me started.

I might not be the biggest or most seasoned guy in the gym, but I use proper etiquette and show respect for the gym and the people there.

What's wrong with fat people on ab machines? At least they're in the gym working. Good for them.

People who are doing curls with their back instead of their biceps.

People who are using the lat pulldown bar starting in the upright position, then ending up laying flat... using mainly their back to complete the motion instead of their lats.

The 6:30 PM social crowd who does nothing more than clog up the machines and weight racks while they're sitting there bullshitting.

Saw a dude this morning, newb, put a quarter on the t-bar and almost knock his teeth out when he jerked it up like it was 350. he has been floating around for a few days now, gets on a machine and does like 20 lightning fast reps with no weight at all and walks around for ten minutes, goes to another and repeats until the end of time.

Oh and fat dudes with no arm definition that wear sleeveless shirts everywhere. Just because your fat arms measure 20 inches doesn't qualify them as 20 inch guns. If you cant see triceps and biceps, go get some sleeves or cut the stomach off your shirt and show your fat belly, it's the same principle and just as ridiculous looking.

1. any asshole in a crowded gym that does one set, STARTS BULLSHITTING WITH OTHER PEOPLE when he/she knows there are others waiting to use that particular equipment.

2. anyone who sweats like a whore in a confessional all over the equipment, and doesn't wipe it down.

3. not being able to find a matching set of dumbbells because some lazy fuck left them somewhere other than the rack.

4. tons of fucking "lets get pumped" shouting and shit for typical workout stuff... by this i mean the 'tards that are going berserk over the every goddamn day workout, every time they're there.

I'm new to the gym scene and probably one of the smallest guys there.... So my list is pretty short.

1. Not re-stacking the weights.... I grow tired of using what little muscle/energy I have unstacking the 3-4 sets of 45's some of the larger fellows leave on the machines when they're done. :o

2. People walking around in the locker room butt ass naked for uncomfortable amounts of time. Yes it's a locker room and yes you have the right to be naked, but please spare me the naked work discussions, the naked hair drying, and yes, "this is a new one to me" the naked blow dry your taint/anus area in the mirror for 3-6 minutes.

All of the 24 hours around me don't even have shoulder press racks, so you either have to use a smith, DB or take a squat rack, and although I do like DB shoulder press, it's a definite nod to the fact that 24 hour fatness is a "fitness center" not a gym.

Yup, that's one of the old ones, as is Parker and Alma, and old denton and george bush in carrollton. None of those gyms are replacing the old equipment as it wears out/breaks. I.E. big dumbells with mismatched handles, loose plates, etc.

I don't know how long it has been since you went to Coit and Campbell but they completely redid it about two years ago, expanded by about 30% and replaced some stuff, added to the dumbells and all that crap. Through most of my lifting career I didn't do military because I was working out alone, and didn't want to risk damaging a rotator cuff going heavy without a spot. Keep makin' your excuses... :p

Did I say that I wasn't working out? No. It's just fucking obnoxious when they do away with one NECESSITY of a machine that takes up as much space as another abdominizer/bicepinator/glutes or glory machine that they seem to have endless amounts of for all of the people who don't actually want results.

I may be biased because most of those machines don't seem to jive with me, but free weights sure jive just fine.
Just complain, that's what we do. Call their HQ and bitch. They get on it then.

Fuck that, I don't care that much. I'll just take that 25$ a month and put it towards my Metroflex membership. IF it's half as cool as the one in Arlington, then I'll be a happy camper. A gym with a real heavy bag, that not only won't complain but encourage you to deadlift, with no shortage of dumbells over 80lbs? SIGN ME UP.

I'm not a fan of attention whores that let out an over emphesized grunt or "AH" for every rep as to say 'look at all the weight I'm lifting. I'm such a badass', followed by slamming the weights down. You can clearly tell when someone's doing for effort and when they're doing it for attention.

i sure guess we are pretty lucky then, everyone at the gym i go to is very friendly courtious and helpful. they wipe off the machines dont hog them up and if they are using a machine they will split it with you. i usually go at 5am and its mainly an older croud but it is enjoyable and fun. i guess my only bitch is about the techno musci they play sometimes. i guess i can hear "put the funk in it" just so many times in a workout.

Did he even get the bar off the rack?
Yup, but couldnt bring it back up. Two guys rushed over to help him. What was funny he got up and started looking at the bench like if something was wrong with it, then he just got his things and left.
