Picked this up the other day and can't seem to find any info on it.

Its a ar15 sp-1 model, "advanced armaments, m15, .223 cal, lingleville tex." Barrel is 20" with "c mp chrome bore" stamped on it.

Anyone heard of these or know where I can look for info? Only thing I've heard was the company went out of business around 93 or 94.

"the Colt AR15 Model SP1 was the civilian version of the US Rifle, Caliber 5.56mm, M16"

"The Colt SP1 is in my opinion the finest civilian version of the military rifle for several reasons. The SP1 was made by the same manufacturer as the military M16, Colt, on the same production lines as the military rifle. The SP1 was produced from 1964 to 1985, therefore, all Colt SP1 rifles are pre-ban. This refers to the Clinton Administration ban on military semi-automatic weapons dating from September 1994. Simply put, the ban limited production of rifles with pistol grips, bayonet lugs, flashhiders, and detachable magazines of high capacity. All these features are included on the SP1 and are identical to the military rifles. Each part of the rifle is stamped with a "C" to indicate manufacture by Colt. The SP1 contains all the engineering changes made to the US Rifle, M16, including chrome bore and chamber, closed prong flashhider, and buttstock storage trap, which makes the weapon even more durable and useful than the original design. "

This is what came up on a quick search.

I'm trying to find out about a "advanced armaments m15", production numbers, quality, gun value....I just mentioned the sp1 because thats what it looks like, no forward assist, no shell deflector, has the bayonet lug, prong flash hider...etc...

I really wonder if that didn't come out of Jim Leatherwood's shop. Interesting.
