so why aren't bike dealerships open sunday? and why are most also closed monday? I figure it's so they can have a 2 day weekend without losing too much in sales since most wouldn't buy on those days. But there are some open on Mondays, and I had yet to see any on Sunday until I went to Cali. Also saw a comment on here about TX law saying they can't sell powersports on Sunday (not buying that).
Just recently saw this at the FT Worth Harley:
Monday 9:00AM - 7:00PM
Tuesday 9:00AM - 7:00PM
Wednesday 9:00AM - 7:00PM
Thursday 9:00AM - 7:00PM
Friday 9:00AM - 7:00PM
Saturday 8:00AM - 6:00PM
Sunday 11:00AM - 5:00PM
Service Closed
That leads to the fact that you can sell bikes on Sunday, just no one chooses to do so.

I know that Al Lamb's and Maxim do rides on Sunday and are just off on Monday's.
The Mondays are just customary, no reason for it other than they don't feel like being open.
Even Pep Boys can't sell their junky 4 wheelers on Sundays. Retail motor vehicle dealerships can't be open on two consecutive weekend days. It's a state law and has been fought in district courts. Carmax sued, appealed and even had a 6 year injuction that was dismissed last year trying to fight the blue laws.
Fort Worth Harley would be breaking the law if they are selling bikes on both days but if they do enough business to warrant paying the fines then they can do whatever they want.

why cant we be closed? most people get 2 days off and they are normally sat and sun.
ot. we had a customer(take that back he has never bought a bike from us and always wants a better deal on parts, hell he was setup like a customer that bought a bike from us) that made a comment about our closing times for winter(9-6, summer 9-7) he got mad and actually said "that is bullshit that you close at 6 now", one of the coworkers looked right at and asked "what time to you get out of work?" the guy commented 5, the coworker replied "that is bullshit, what if i wanted to come to your work after i get off?"
normally customers are always right, but some customers need to be put in their place.

Nothing like people bitching about what time you close, or what days you are closed, when you are open every day of the year. I was in the food industry and worked for a corporate owned company, and hated the customer is always right shit. The customer is NOT always right, but most cases you have to kiss their ass to keep your job, and these days, you got to have the job.

I know when it comes to selling cars, dealerships can only sell on saturday and not sunday or sunday and not saturday. Maybe its the same for bike dealers

Some Harley shops are open Sundays but only to sell parts and accessories. You can't buy a bike on a Sunday if you are also open the previous Saturday.
Would you have wanted to sell bikes 7 days a week when you were here? Probably not.

Anyone old enough to remember when the Texas Blue Law was more restrictive and there wasn't shit open on Sundays except grocery stores and movie theaters? When I was a kid the mall parking lot would be empty on Sundays and about the only thing I could do (going out) was catch a movie.

Texas bylaws state dealerships of anykind can not be open on Sundays. Mondays is powersports slowest day, therefore making sense to be closed forcing the entire staff to be there the rest of the week. A lot of dealerships are open on Mondays now and a lot of parts and accessory only shops are open Sunday and Monday.
Cali, Nevada, and some other states do not have the same regulations, hence why they are open 7 days a week.

My mom told me about one particular Sunday when I was a newborn, the Blue Laws prevented her from buying me a bottle because it wasn't a "necessity"..
Blue Laws, and any derivative of them, have to be the dumbest shit going.
