Ok if I were to acquire the parts to make my AR fully auto but wanted to do it legally I know I would need a C3. My question is how can i go about acquiring one of those for a gun I already own?

Simple answer is you cant.
Expensive answer is spend the $8k-$10k on a registered sear or lightning link.
Long answer is you become a FFL, get you're SOT pay for post sample stuff or become a Class 2 manufacturer.

SOT is Special Occupation Tax. It's your additional licensing to sell and transfer Title 2 weapons except DDs.
Good luck and hope you knwo some friendly Chief LEOs. :D

Good luck.
I'll eventually get around to doing mine. It's just to much of a pain in the ass right now for what it's worth in my eyes.
