Went by Military Gun Supply and they have Barnul 7.62x39 for $125/500 and Barnul .223 for $150/500 but it's the stuff with the lacquer coated cases.
Then went by CTD (Cheaper than Dirt, which needs to be changed to OMG!) and they have a display of Federal 55gn .223 for $698/1,000

LOL at .$69 a round for some .223.
Anyone who pays that is a fucking moron and probably shouldnt even own guns.

I forgot that the Lake City .223 was $11.97 for a box of 30 w/ stripper clips.
Also they have 200 round Yugoslavian battle packs of .308 for $149.99
There was an older guy (about 55 or so) looking at an AR. He told the salesman that he had never touched one, but figured he needed to buy one. It was all I could do to not say anything to correct the salesperson's incorrect ramblings.

CTD is no longer a suggestion place to purchase ammo, their prices have become comical.

I have everything needed to do that, I think it's the whole liability aspect that concerns me.

Find new, brass, reloadable .223 for cheaper.

Ammo, along with gun prices, are getting ridiculous. On a side note, a coworker was in trouble with the law and suicidal. Another coworker took possession of all his guns. I was told today they are all for sale. Im going to get back my AK i sold him along with a SKS and a few other hand guns. I told the SKS is $50 :D

CTD is still one of the very best places to purchase gun accessories, they are just adjusting their prices due to the ridiculous demand, can't blame them. I'd rather raise prices and keep my inventory than keep them the same and have empty shelves.

CTD is now Highter Than Shit. A co-worker of mine went there last week and told me someone must have fallen and hit their head when they set the prices. He told me PMAGS were like 40 bucks each for the window model.

it's all supply and demand. My G3 mags were cheaper than they have ever been in the last 30 years.

Cheaper than dirt is just taking advantage of the situation.
I can go to Cabella's and buy ammo cheaper than Cheaper than Dirt
I can go to Academy and buy ammo cheaper than Cheaper than Dirt
I can go to Bass Pro and buy ammo cheaper than Cheaper than Dirt
I can go to Dicks Sportings Goods and buy ammo cheaper than Cheaper than Dirt.
Thats hard for me to say, since I used to shop a lot at Cheaper than Dirt. But right now the owners on the Bandwagon of Obama is going to take all your shit, so you better get it now.....

They got a bunch of free advertising on tv in the days following the election and now they are cashing in. Though they are just as responsible for the rush on this stuff as many of you guys who post in here. "Oh noes, Obama is taking our guns, I need to go buy 10 AR's". :p We already had one of these bans once, it's not the end of the world.

Because AR-15's are in higher demand, reinforcing my point about supply and demand.

Because countries dumped their G3 HK platform guns and companies like IO, Century etc bought the hundreds of thousands of mags and parts kits for importation and sale; especially after the lapse of the last AWB.

exactly, thats my point, there is a lot more supply and therefore less demand. With all these first time buyers wanting AR-15's, prices have skyrocketed, whilst G3's being very rare, have dropped to the lowest levels I've ever seen. I'm able to buy Original *NEW* H&K aluminum G3 mags WITH brand new battle pouches for $2.89 a piece - that's insanity.
David

I wouldnt say G3s are rare, but it all boils down to a fad.
The prices are retarded and people are stupid for paying them.
And if you wanted a deal on G3 mags, I know a guy who has 10k for a $1 a mag all brand new.

I'm comparing them to AR's proliferation - I'd say in comparison they are extremely rare. I myself have never even seen one at a range or a shoot before, obviously they are out there, but considering even the most sought after parts for them sit on shelves for months I feel that at least in the DFW area there can't be that many. I have all the mags I'll ever need now, I can't carry more than 300 rounds of 7.62x51 anyways. Another thing to remember is CTD is a national supplier, not just local, their prices adjust according to their overall sales, so in comparison to our local prices it is ridiculous, but nationally I believe they are still competitive.
