Can somebody make a sticky regarding basic ar15 questions? It seems like in every thread regarding the purchase of lowers or other ar15 parts people always ask-
Why build instead of buying a complete rifle?
What is the difference between a stripped and complete lower?
How do you order a lower from the internet?
How hard is it to build an ar15?
What are some good brands/sites to look at?
ect...
I would gladly type up a good faq to be stickied if Allan or another mod thinks its a good idea.

I say who care's... I say force people to do research for information they want to know.. That's the problem with today's society, the general public doesn't want to work, they want everything handed to them.

You can't knock an entire group of people for asking questions when you start your post off like that.
I'm as disgusted as the next guy with the laziness of people these days but I just don't see the problem in having a thread that we can point to anytime these questions are asked. We shouldn't discourage education, especially on something like firearms. People are uneducated enough as it is when it comes to guns (myself often included) and your response doesn't help the image of the average gun owner in the eyes of the public, nor does it educate anyone.

So... asking someone a question regarding a hobby they are interested in is now considered lazy?
I just thought I might help out a few board members by answering a few simple questions they might have.

Who is discouraging gun education?http://www.youhide.com/nph-info.pl/000111A/687474703a2f2f7777772e6466777374616e67732e6e65742f 666f72756d732f2e2f696d616765732f736d696c6965732f63 6f6e66757365642e676966
To be honest I'm not interested in educating the next guy if he isn't interested in educating him self. If the question was a legitimate question that the answer could not be found to then I have no problem trying to help.
As for how the average gun owner appears in the eyes of the public, were not talking about "how to handle a weapon" or "gun control". I mean give me a break, where talking about parts of a weapon. ALL of the question that have been asked could be solved with a simple google search.

How interested can they really be in it if they aren't willing to research it themselves? Like I said, if it was a hard question to answer it would be a different story.

I think most of those questions can be answered by FAQ's written up already on AR15.com, and I don't think you have to register to read them. One here would be a good idea also.
<<<guilty of asking simple AR questions...
Edit to add the link I was thinking of...

Personally I found AR information a bit difficult to come by when I was just starting to look at them and I was doing my own research on them. Even on the boards like AR15.com they use a lot of nomenclature that someone new to the rifles wouldn't have a fucking clue about.

ONCE AGAIN, if you couldn't get the answer from a simple google search then I could understand asking the question.

Well ill see what Allan wants to do. If he thinks its a good idea I would be more than happy to type up a nice thread.
And peewee, its easy to tell others to go and research on their own.... but think back to when you just started learning about all this stuff and trying to sift through the legitimate info and the BS out there. I know it took me a while to figure it all out!

I AM JUST STARTING TO LEARN ABOUT AR STUFF. Hell, 2 months ago I couldn't have told you shit about an AR and I'm still not very knowledgeable but I"m willing to do the research required to find the answers I'm looking for. I'm currently acquiring parts for my FIRST AR build. http://www.youhide.com/nph-info.pl/000111A/687474703a2f2f7777772e6466777374616e67732e6e65742f 666f72756d732f2e2f696d616765732f736d696c6965732f77 696e6b2e676966
