I want to organize a group buy. I think I have a FFL at 15 bux per... I need to know who might be interested.

UPDATE: my FFL in Arlington will do $10 for CHL holders and $15 for non if we can get a decent group buy together!!!

how soon are you looking at making the order?

I can be down for 2 if the order (money due) is later in December or early January.

I'm ordering a rifle kit next week which will eat into the firearm funds a bit, but I should be able to replenish those funds for a lower buy by the end of December.

Stripped lowers are basically the rifle's lower mechanical frame... A complete lower includes all the guts, stock, etc. A complete upper with a complete lower make a whole AR15.

Are you going to put a cap on the numbers or say that it's limited to members of this site (not people who register today just to get in on this) ?

If you get hundreds of orders, and they will actually entertain the idea of a group buy, that volume could push delivery dates out by months.

Where did you get your price from?? Here is a cut/paste from there website:

NOTE: This morning, (Monday November 17, 2008) we were notified by the machine shop that produces our AA15 lower receivers that effective immediately there will be a price increase of $37.00 per unit on all orders not already shipped. This will of course force us to increase our price.

Because we still believe in bringing our clients the very best value possible we will absorb some of that increase for a period of 30 days. Therefore we are raising our retail and current sale price for all receivers by $30, (Meaning we will actually be making $7 LESS per receiver than before!) For the last 18 months our prices for stripped receives has been: Retail $145, on sale for $100. After the $30 increase the new prices are $175 on sale for $130 (Which is still below the “Old” normal retail price! We will continue to hold the sale price as long as we are able to do so. In 30 days (December 17, 2008) the prices will have to up. At that time we “expect” the price to be: Retail $180 hopefully to remain on sale at a price of $135, (Which is STILL $10.00 below the previous regular retail price!)

All orders that include an AA15 Lower Receiver will show an corresponding and equal price increase.

All clients that have been sent a sales order showing the $100 price will be honored. All new sales orders will unfortunately have to be at the new price. We sincerely apologize for the change but at the new price we must pay there is simply no other option. We did however hold off until the very last possible minute.

Some people here in Florida seem to think Anvil is made by LAR, but Anvil won't say. I like Anvil. They are at all the gun shows and are always helpful.

I did a bunch of reading today on Anvil, a lot of searching. I have yet to see a bad thing about them. Like Allan said, they are huge in Florida and along the southeast coast... everyone seems to like them.

I sent an e-mail, I am hoping that with a larger order, I might get a price break. Also, the FFL I am talking to might go cheaper with all the orders I am gonna give him. Long story short, the only good thing to the group buy is if I can cut a deal on pricing... otherwise, hell, go to www.anvilarms.com and buy your own, LOL!

What I want is a PM from everyone who is interested. Tell me how many you want. I am trying to find a local FFL, or PM me someone you know who's cheaper than $15 a piece. I will draw a deadline of December 5th. If I don't have your money [b]FOR THE LOWER AND THE FFL[b/] by December 5th, period. The price is going to go up in mid-December for sure.

It seems like some of the folks on here are a bit scared of a full AR build. If anyone needs help, there are more than a few of us willing to walk you through the process. Trust me when I say it's worth saving the money, and having the familiarity with the weapon. Heck, we should even get a build GTG going for some of the newbs

Thats a good idea... I built mine sitting in a hotel room with vice grips, a hammer, a screw driver and a couple punches... it really is simple... I was skeered at first but it turned out to be nothing...

I've had an Anvil lower and it's every bit as good as anything machined by LMT (Lewis Machine and Tool) who makes lowers.

I've sent you a PM for 2 lowers.

Don, I'm gonna have to pass for now. I just found out that a co-worker's dad that passed had a cache of ammo that I'm going to buy instead of the lowers.

I have 4 ARs already, and instead of buying more, I'm gonna by something to feed them :D

The $15 would have to be a separate transaction b/w you and the FFL upon pickup.
$130+tax for the part
$15 (+tax?) for the transfer.

Legally, Don can't take delivery of all of the lowers then pass them out like rations. Each buyer has to be present at the FFL to fill out a 4473.

Correct on all counts. My FFL will want $15 from non-CHL holders upon pickup... you will have to personally pick up your lower reciever in person, I cannot fill out all of the forms for everyone. He needs to be able to identify you (state ID) and run a NICS check, unless you have a CHL.

From my understanding, the lowers will not be taxed since Anvil is in Florida. However, they have a somewhat odd ordering process that involves e-mail... I am ASSuMEing that they will contact me after I place an order for the FFL holder's information as well as payment. Paypal is cool, but they charge a 3% fee. Mail me a check/money order, or if you wanna do Paypal send $134 to cover the service fee. If you are close to me, you can bring me the $130 in cash, either way.

I personally don't need any information. When my FFL receives the order from Anvil, you will need to go to him, pay him the fee, and fill out your 4473. All in all, it's pretty painless and everyone should be able to get out the door with a quality lower receiver for $145 or less :)
