Bike will be sold Saturday morning. Meeting the guy at his bank up in Celina, TX which will make for a nice final ride for the Winter. I hope to be back up on two by Spring or Summer and I've already got a few different bikes that I've got in mind as a replacement.
This was my second R6 (third motorcycle overall) and my first fuel injected bike. I fell in love with the paint scheme the first time I saw it and vowed that it would be my next bike. I was fortunate to find one on the board and even more fortunate when it didn't sell for a couple of months (IIRC) allowing . Mid December would have made 4 years I've owned the bike. Bought it with around 8K miles on the odometer and she's right around 32.5K right now. She'll be missed but never forgotten.

True. The only thing I'm concerned about is prices going up just before bike riding season. So I'm looking at prices right now and noting them down so I can compare them come Spring time.

So why are you getting rid of it? wanting something bigger or just something newer?

That is easily one of my favorite bikes, sucks that your selling it but it sounds like its for the right reasons.

Mainly to pay off bills. Selling the bike will put a major dent in what I owe and the sooner I can get out of credit card debt the faster I can get back on two wheels. Plus I haven't been riding much so selling the bike made the most sense for now.
I'm sure once it's gone and not having it around will have me itching for another one. It seems the only time I went riding was on group rides or get togethers. I used to go riding by myself just to clear my head but I haven't been doing that lately. Last time I took a long ride by myself was probably Fourth of July weekend where I went on a 200 mile plus ride down South of Cleburne.
Haven't decided if I want something bigger, newer, or just different. I've been itching towards the new ZX-6R, ZX-10, an VFR800, and even a 954. I'm sorta all over the map right now. Guess I'll see what's out there when the time comes.

Better bundle up for Saturday morning, I heard it's supposed to be cold man.
Congrats on finding a buyer, if you're happy, I'm happy for ya. Can't wait for next year; when you get back on two wheels, we'll have to have an inaugural ride for your new bike.

so I guess you looking to go with a new bike this time around if you're looking at prices? just remember, say you don't wanna pay freight and prep. ;)
and that's pretty good owning a bike 4 years. I've never owned one past 1 year before the fz1. Have had it almost 2 years now, but haven't been on it since July.

Honestly, I'm anxious to get rid of it now. I don't want to ride it for fear of "breaking" something on it. I'm probably being more paranoid than necessary but it would just be my luck if something happened to it. I'm motivated to sell because the sooner I can pay off my bills the quicker I can get into another bike.
Which has also got me thinking about getting my Mustang running properly again so I can enjoy her as well. She's been sitting to long and really got put onto the back burner after buying my first bike.

Man I've washed her twice and haven't even ridden her :( Been sitting in my storage with my bike cover throw over her staying clean. Twice over this past weekend I sat on her and just started her and warmed her up. Damn I'm going to miss riding for a while :(

Thanks Richard. The graphics where the first thing that attracted me to the bike. But I was always worried about damaging the plastic and being able to find replacements. Next bike will probably be more "simpler".

Well the wait is over. I dropped the bike off yesterday with the new owner. It was a memorable last ride. Temps were in the low 50's and it rained almost all the way up to Celina. Little over an hour ride, completely soaked, and froze my ass off. It'll be a ride I won't soon forget.

Young guy by the name of Justin (don't want to give out his last name). Good kid and he is paying for the bike with a bank loan so he sounds responsible enough.
Didn't realize it but we've ridden through Celina on a few trips from Anna off of 75 all the way across to 35.
You were probably ready to get rid of the bitch by the time you got there! :p
I gotta tell you, that's the longest I've ever ridden in the rain on a bike. When I took my MSF course (3 day course), the first day and a half we did in the rain. I think that better prepared me on the off chance that I ever got caught in the rain and that's happen on a few occasions. But in general, if it looked like it was going to rain I didn't ride. On a couple of long trips I've gotten caught in it for a few minutes and I'd pull over and find a place to stop. But this is the first time I knew it was going to rain and went out in it willingly. It's also the hardest rain I've ever ridden in coupled with the fact that the temps were in the low 50's.
I don't think I'll have a problem in the future if it ever happened, I was actually surprised how comfortable I was the whole time. The only thing I'd do differently is having some frickin' rain gear. I was soaked to the bone and my socks and boots were squishy all day until I made it home and changed. I'm surprised I didn't get sick from the combination or the rain and cold.

Nope, the KB was for another project car I had which has since been sold. I have an S-Trim on my Vert and mostly I just need to get some dyno time and get the car dialed in with some tuning on the TwEECer R/T. That and some maintenance done replacing sensors and checking wiring to make sure she runs reliably. Oh and a new convertible top!

I'm a puss as well when it comes to cold weather. I can tolerate it later in the day better than I can first thing in the morning and regularly rode home in the evenings from work in 40°-50° temps. Guess I'm just getting old but something about waking up first thing in the morning and riding in 40° weather just doesn't work for me :)

Sunday around mid-day, I was on my way back to Sherman from Merkel (sp?) Texas, on the other side of Abilene.....I saw an R6 that looked identical to your previous one on I-20......granted I'm sure there are more than one out there.....But I never saw another one like it. Wonder if it was the new owner.
