I bought a SKS rifle from a guy on the forums here about almost 2 years ago.....it was stolen out of my truck. I was wondering if that person has the serial number to the gun laying around anywhere, i cant remember who sold it to me but it was someone on here and they lived in the lucas area. Any help would be appreciated thanks!
Chris
Random curiousity, but why would you leave an SKS in your truck?

...and why wouldn't you write the serial number down shortly after it's purchase?

Forgetting say, my laptop is one thing, but my laptop cant kill another human being. A laptop and a semi automatic weapon are two VERY different things. If something that import can clip your mind to be left behind, clearly he's not responsible enough to be a gun owner. Careless gun owners like him, make it difficult for responsible gun owners to argue their rights to have such weapons. With the right to own and possess such firearms comes a greater responsibility.

And that makes it ok? lol.

oh shut up already shit, get off the soap box, shit happens. I had a goddamn armory in the back of the vette and I stopped at the grocery store on the way back from the range, my shit could have been stolen then.

Was the gun 100% stock?
Did you put an aftermarket removeable mag in the gun? The factory mag has the serial numbers on it.

If the truck was not locked - careless
If the truck was lock - criminal and not really his fault. Hell, I care a lot but will leave my rifle locked in a vehicle to buy something quick or scout...etc

Look on the positive side. Maybe the low life who took it will be stupid again and wave it at a legally armed, trained and licensed gun owner who will introduce him to some of the finest lead that Winchester can produce. Problem solved for good and maybe another lesson taught.

Maybe some lowlife was ashamed of the life he'd been leading and put the barrel in his mouth.
