Was arrested for traffic ticket warrants (3 times) when I was 18-24. I am 39 now. Do I need to list these arrests on my application since they were only Class C? Also took some anti-depressants back when I was around 28. Will this be an issue? I go through an FBI background check each year with my work (bank) and no issues.

i think it only asks if you have been arrested due to a felony but i could be wrong.

Class B or higher.

wow, really makes me think with all the stupid shit i have done... i'm lucky i have never fucked up bad enough especially since street racing is a class b now. i guess as you get older you actually think of consequences. luckily i can just write "NO" on ever line with out really having to read.

I thought the same thing when I filled out my arrest affidavit and failed to mention 2 arrests for traffic tickets (both FTA's) which happened over 25 years ago. I had to get notorized letters from two different courts stating the final disposition of the offenses. Getting someone to research old records in storage and to write a letter took a long time and held up getting my CHL by an additional 3 months. This happened when applying for my TX CHL. I already had a CHL in another state for over 20 years.

My advice would be to list ANY time you were arrested regardless of how long ago it was, including if the charges were dismissed.

Once you're booked in, it stays on your permanent record. Save yourself the time and trouble and give them all the info up front. They're going to find out about it anyway!

I appreciate the responses. I figured I would have to list them. I don't rememeber the dates so I guess I can just go to any PD and get a rap sheet printed? All arrests were in the DFW area.

I'm calling BS. Since when did Class C's show on criminal histories? I have my CHL and reported nothing for arrest history, yet been jailed three times. Two dealing with traffic tickets and one Class C assault. Hmmm...

Also, just because you put the arrest of the Class B or higher (like it asks), doesn't mean you're not necessarily going to be denied.

I bet it doesn't show anything, unless it's the department you were arrested. Either way, you'll probably be referred to Austin for a criminal history submittal.

Go ahead and put the Class C's in there, though. It's not like you'll be denied because of it.

My record showed the arrests but didn't give the nature or the final dispositions.
The State wanted me to chase that information down and submit the appropriate documentation. Naturally, it didn't prevent mine from being issued, it just cost me additional time and effort to get those old records located and letters written.
CHL's are taking long enough to be issued these days... I'm just trying to save new applicants further delays by sharing my experiences.

+1

And its not during the FBI check that they find this out. They have a trooper go put and check on you with the local PDs as part of the texas BG investigation.

El Paso took forever for me :(

I'll post in the Back Porch and see if anyone on here can run a rap sheet for me. Thanks for all of the replies.

didn't know it was harder to run now that it used to be. I had a cop run mine in his car one time just for kicks, but that was many years ago. Thanks.

Put everything you've been arrested for.

If you don't have a Class A or B mis, in the past 5 years, you'll get one.

If you have a Felony, your screwed for life.

As a suggestion, You might try giving the DPS a call for a recommendation for a Texas police agency who will run your record for you.
I had to send a money order for $10 and a self addressed stamped envelope to an agency in another state to get mine.
