So who will be working out at the 24 hr in Murphy, it opens Dec 19th? I need a workout partner, someone who knows there stuff like Aaron etc, I usually go around 4:30 in the afternoon. No leg humpers please! :)

leg humping is all i expect you'll get. I may go there once or twice a year when I go to visit my parents...but not reliable enough to be a partner.

*And please post up on how the gym is when it opens!

I will be going there but I am the complete opposite of Aaron. I need to drop 35lbs. Tipping the scales at 232 now and want to get back down to 195. They sure have been taking their sweet time building that damn thing.

It is a valid question, you said lucky for us you are going to work out there so do you know what you are talking about or not.

I don't know how to do the proper form on all the free weights etc, that is why I am asking for a work out partner. But I need one that does know.

What? You can't tell by that MASSIVE forearm in his avatar that he is a master of the weight room? He's so good in fact, that he can't be bothered by people that are looking to improve themselves in a similar manner, as there would be no time left for all of the IFBB pros that are beating down his door for training advice. People like him were born with the gift of perfect form, and were probably flexing in the womb. He's never once had to ask for advice or reach out for information, lucky bastard.

If you aren't here to help, then why are you in this thread? Other than to try to convince us of how utterly bad ass you are, of course. I don't know you well enough to have anything against you, but the e-attitude is laughable.

Hater? Riiight. I can still out bench you after 3 months away from the gym with a broken leg, and yet I'm still happy to give assistance when I can, rather than coming off with your holier than thou attitude. Even at the top of my game I've understood the concept of humility. You talk like you're built like Jay Cutler.

1st of all, I thought she was talking shit, thats the reason for the reply.
Second of all, I am probably the nicest guy on this board, and NO I am not the type of person that talks shit, I just act. Trust me.

I help anyone , anytime - believe that

I dont think that I am better than anyone,

I dont give a fuck if you can out bench me, out fuck me, out work me.. I could care less... You can be better than me all day long. I guarantee you are not as happy as me!

Ya I want some idiot at 24 hrs that will have me doing stuff that wrecks my knee or back, um I think not.

I know part of what I need to do just don't remember the proper form etc on the free weights and need a work out buddy cause if you have someone to work out with you won't blow it off as easily as if you don't.

It is nice working out with someone as it's motivation just to go to the gym. Once you're there you just do your thing.

I'm sure someone here will give you some pointers to go off of.

getting 20 lbs leaner through strict weight training isn't going to be too easy for a female since you wont build a lot of muscle to burn the calories (at least I hope not...haha).

24hr does offer some of the group X classes that I believe are free, and a great form or forced cardio. That's gonna be your best bet to get the lbs off with a type of "coach". Some locations offer good classes, and some are shit. A spin class will probably kick your ass...and produce results you want.

When it comes to toning up the muscles, you should be able to pick up fast and progress well with machines as well as free weights. And the machines will nearly force you to do proper form in a lot of cases.

EDIT: And I agree with you on not wanting a trainer...It's just not worth it.

The gym is open, has been for a week ot two I just keep forgetting to post. It is really nice and open( lots of room and one big square space). Lots of cardio machines and weights. Has a cool ab machine that is kind of like playing basketball. Haven't taken any classes yet, simi watched a few while on the stair master and wasn't all that impressed with the instructors. Is it me or if you are an instructor and not looking good/in shape what makes me think that me taking your class is going to make me in better shape?

If you want to come by the Coit Campbell location and workout sometime I can at least give you some pointers on form and get you pointed in the right direction. Michelle was working out with me for a few months doing some good weight and started to get toned and then decided she didn't like my workout all that much.

Focus on your diet. Proper form and consistent weight training won't burn enough calories to put you in a deficit if you are eating too much of the wrong things. You don't want to hear it, but alcohol is one of the WORST things that you can put in your body when trying to lose weight.

I think her bra weighs 6lbs, so if she goes african villager style, she's 30% of the way there!

Just tall. I think she's either 6'2" or 6'12" ;)
Everything is in proper proportion, just a lot of woman there. (Think the super chick in 'Dude. Where's my car?')
