You can always buy several boxes of WWB at WalMart or Monarch (Green Box) at Academy

Green box monarch ammo is surprisingly good ammo. I read a few comparisons of their 5.56 ammo, and it was actually rated up there with federal as far as quality (which is amazing since it's bargain bin).

Thanks. I just need some cheap target loads. Went through 200 rounds Sunday, got a little expensive with the Winchesters.

I've shot green monarch through my .45 pistols and through a thompson, and never had an FTE or any issues.

Monarch is a store brand for Academy. I'm pretty sure most of the green box (brass case) stuff is Serbian ammo from Prvi Partizan. The blue box stuff is Russian steel case from Tula. (same as Wolf)
i've shot monarch .223 out of my m4 with no problems and my wife shoots monarch out of her .380

wish Monarch/Academy carried it in .40 cal. they don't have it on their website. Might be going to the Ft Worth gun show saturday, maybe I can find some bulk ammo there. Went online and most places have the same price as Bass Pro/Cabellas does, even at 1200 rounds there's only about $20 difference. THanks for the input.

From my experience gun shows are not a good place to get ammo. For Winchester White Box, my local Walmart or Academy is always cheaper. Good luck though.

I buy mine through www.jgsales.com
I just picked up 500 rounds of Silver Bear 62gr hollow point .223 for $119 and 3-30 round factory mags for my AK for $29 each.

Most places can with just a photo ID, DL/CHL, and ships to your door.
I bought some from aimsurplus a while back...

Anyone can receive it with ID over 21 years old... that was their policy.

I bought 1800 rounds of .223 and 1000 rounds of 9mm from Ammoman.com on Nov 10th, shows to be delivering on the 18th. I did not send them a copy of my DL or anything.
Just bought another 2000 rounds of .223 and 1500 .45acp this morning. Hoping to have the same experience.

Bills? What are those? I live in the mountains in Afghanistan for free, eat up all the food I want, and generators supply us electricity, no gas bill either. It has it's downsides though. :(

That's right man, got to work on my preps for our post-oppocolyptic world we are heading for. I figure that firearms and ammo is an easy one for me to do over the internet from this side of the world. Got 4 16" Del-Ton kits coming also. I figure 5 ARs with 1000 rounds each is a good start.
Land and the rest of the BOL come next.

I guess I just love my great state of Texas too much to leave. That and my army of trigger pullers will come from my family that won't want to move with me. No since in having a barrel without a someone behind it to pull the trigger. We are looking at a cross between homesteading and working in the city but living in the country.
Oh and to not kill the thread. Buy bulk ammo. Check out ammoman 1000 rounds .223 between $279-550. I buy right around the $390 range.

Well shit as long as there is a plan. Besides you can always train the kids to get a good sight alignment, sight picture. lol I was just going to start shooting and see who comes. Note to self put the dog in the house first.
