I find this panic quite hilarious. Luckily I foresaw these events and made my purchases many months ago (everyone thought I was crazy then for owning more than 1 ar15).

I picked up a couple of hundred rounds of Monarch FMJ at Academy for $2.99 a box. It is supposed to be on sale at this price until Nov. 27. It rings up wrong so verify the price the guy behind the counter before you go to the register. Their stock is very low so getting it is kinda hit and miss.

Yeah it was Monarch 7.62x39 FMJ. It looks exactly like Wolf Military Classic. I didn't compare headstamps though. The sale may have been till they ran out. I picked up the last 200 rnds they had in the Plano store. They told me that was all they had and did not know when they would get more.
I would have bought a lot more if I could. $150 per thousand is a good deal these days.

Academy's regular price on Monarch 7.62x39 FMJ is $4.85 a box (20 rnds) which isn' that great for steel case ammo.
The stuff shoots fine in my Saiga and a buddy's SKS. Have not tried it in my Ruger Mini yet, but then it will shoot most anything.

When I say bulk, Im looking for 500-1000 rounds, preferably 1000. Wolf steel case was what I was looking at getting, but thats the one thats hardly anywhere to be found.

Sherman had 46 boxes, they now have 16 left. They were $4.85/box but still cheaper than the wolf classic I bought monday.
They also had a S&W m&p .223 for $899 if anyone is interested.

The sale at Academy was cut short due to them selling more then expected. Atleast that is what the employee told me a couple of weeks ago. One of the ammo dealers at the last Ft.Worth gun show had loads of it. Still had part of the Academy sticker on the boxes from where they bought it then marked it up. They had it priced at $109.95 for 500 rounds.
