What does it take to own one of these legally? I always thought it would be cool to have one(makes a great varmint gun :D ). The other gun that peaked my interest was on Future Weapons last wednesday night, the PDW (http://www.knightarmco.com/images/pdw1.html) - I though it was funny that Discovery was showing this particular episode the day after the election. :p
<----doesn't know too much as far as "assault" rifles are concerned.

To own a machine gun you need money. Then you fill out 2 form 4s. attach a passport photo to each, get a CLEO signature on each form, 2 fingerprint cards, Certificate of compliance, mail in a $200 check with all that and wait 90 days.
The item must be a registered item. All transferrable machine guns average joes can buy were made and registered before May 19, 1986. Everything after that is banned for public purchase.
You ca also buy through a trust or corporation. Dont need the photos, signature, or fingerprint cards. Just 2 form 4s and $200 tax.

Damn, I have to submit half of that documentation every other year for my FBI background check that is required for me to work on/around DPS computer systems. Too bad it goes to different agencies.
- Thanks for the info

I know. That and the shitty airsoft construction are the only things keeping me from buying one. It would be a decent little cheap plinker though.
Dude, a Cricket .22 is still $85 at Wal-Mart, and since it's single shot and bolt action, it'll accurately digest CB caps, thus accurately dispatching a variety of urban pests, without your neighbors thinking you've got anything more than a pellet gun. It's really a .22 for the laziest of shooters.
