I'm considering the Ar-15 group buy, but I have a question. Are their different receivers for different calibers? I'd really like to build a .308 but I see it says the receivers are 5.56/.223.

You would need a different lower, more expensive.

considerably more expensive. As being someone with a .308, I can also tell you the ammo is very expensive.

But a .223/5.56 lower will work with .223, 5.56, .458 SOCOM, 6.8mm SPC, 9mm, etc. The reason .308 won't is because the cartridge is too long for the magwell.
