With all the talk of whats wrong with this and that why doesn't someone actually run for office. I am not saying aim for the stars, like US senator, right off the bat. Maybe something for State Senate. Shit if Obama can become president after serving two year, we can get one person somewhere to represent us! :D
There is a campaign manager that lives by my Dad, I could ask him for advice to get the ball rolling!

Smear campaigns are going to be hilarious in about 20 years. The candidates will be of age to where they were raised on computers; more than likely on a forum or 3.

I want to at some point in my life. My Grandfather did and he talks about how happy it made him feel to straighten some things up.
Problem is my father was a career criminal and there is lots of evidence floating around about bad things I've done on my friends myspace pages, not to mention all the outlandish shit I've posted on the internet. Ooh I'm also not religious and don't have any money. It's going to be a long time before a person as normal as me can win an election. ;)

This damn site and all of my crap I've posted is the first thing that pops in my head when I think of running for an office. I've entertained the thought of running for at least 10 years, but I doubt it will happen.

Take a look at this: Jihad Watch
How can Obama make global peace reign during his administration and restore America’s friendship with Islamic countries? Ahmed Yussef of the jihad terror group Hamas said that Obama’s election gave the U.S. a “chance for a change, after his predecessor, George W. Bush destroyed relations with the external world.” But he emphasized that Obama would miss this chance unless he changed “United States strategy not only in Palestine, but also in Iraq and Afghanistan.”
Taliban spokesman Qari Mohammad Yusuf Ahmadi sounded the same notes: “We want him to change the policies of President Bush. He could end the years-long war by withdrawing U.S. and allied troops from Afghanistan.” Zaki Bani Ershaid, the Secretary General of Jordan’s Islamic Action Front, the country’s largest political party, hinted that the easiest way for him to do so would be to get American troops out of Iraq and stab Israel in the back: “A real change in the U.S. policies cannot materialize without rectifying the erroneous attitude considering Israel an ally, withdrawing troops from Iraq.”
Bani Ershaid appeared confident that Obama would do all this and even declared that Obama’s victory was “tantamount to an apology from the American people for the crimes committed by the outgoing Republican administration in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere.”
Since so many Americans believe the Bush administration owes the world an apology for the American incursions into Iraq and Afghanistan, it is worth noting that the Jordan’s Islamic Action Front is that country’s branch of the international Muslim Brotherhood movement, which in its own words is dedicated in this country to “eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and Allah’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.” That’s from “An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Brotherhood in North America,” a 1991 presentation by Muslim Brotherhood operative Mohamed Akram that was released last year by Federal prosecutors.
Is the President-elect aware of this effort to destroy Western civilization from within and of the fact that among those applauding his election and stated foreign policy goals are members of the principal organization advancing this effort? Has he pondered the implications of this?

I'm positioning myself to eventually run for a high ranking union position. I currently hold a position on the local level, but I'm aiming for the national level sometime in my carreer. The way I look at is like this: Someone has to have the cush office job and make 250k a year with an expense account. Why can't it be me. The funny thing is most guys on the railroad want nothing to do with a union officer's job so my competition is limited. :D

We already have at least one member who already holds an elected position. Sad thing is there's no way the asshole would ever run for a position like that, not that I blame him...

MOST people with Obama's level of education are smart enough to know that politics sucks ass.
Personally I would like to run for political office but too many voters would have an aversion to a self educated candidate with no college degree.

Kay Bailey Hutchison will not seek Re-Election at the end of her current term in 2012.
So if you wanted to run for office, you have that going for you . . . Which is nice.

I just want to be appointed to the fed. Fuck a bunch of election shit, you can survive 4 terms if you want and not even worry about oval office squatters. And you have about 700 people kissing your ass so that you will continue to print money, while anyone else who tries to goes to jail.
