Basic Purpose
Monitor systems within ATX’s IS/IT 24X7 infrastructure. Detect, maintain and repair systems to provide functionality and availability in accordance with their predetermined status of Mission-Critical, Business-Critical or other. Act as initial escalation point for IS/IT issues within Response Operations. Responsible for assisting with implementing and enforcing policies and procedures that insure timely and accurate administration of the database environment. Must be able to function with limited direct supervision. Provide support to response center users on basic application and network functionality, identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. Tracks and monitors the problem to insure a timely resolution. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Principal Accountabilities
A. Provides operational support through performance of scheduled procedures, checks and programmed routines for the automation systems supporting the Response Center.
B. Provides continuous support to operations by initiating and monitoring the scripts and jobs that perform synchronization for systems redundancy, backups and reporting functions.
C. Continuously observes the operating consoles, storage devices, and scheduled batch background processes to assure proper performance, contacting Operations and Technical Services management as required or directed.
D. Monitors Alarm reporting and generation processing subsystems on a continuous basis to assure level of service or prompt corrective action as required.
E. Able to exercise independent judgment and act with some supervision in a real-time production environment.
F. Work rotating shifts in a 24X7 call center environment.

Knowledge and Experience
A. Experience: 1-2 years of experience within a computer environment, with proven ability to understand basic computer relationships and data processing procedures. Familiarity with UNIX required. knowledge of AIX, RDBMS, orLinuxa plus.
B. Education: High School Diploma
C. Planning and Organization: Must be able to cope with critical and emergency procedures, thinking clearly and acting methodically should high-pressure, high-stress system failures occur.
D. Communication/Negotiation Skills: Must possess excellent interdepartmental and intradepartmental communication skills.
E. Computer Proficiency: Must be able to navigate efficiently through computer systems.
Essential Functions
A. Must be able to lift, or carry between 15 and 25 pounds occasionally. Requirements include lifting a load from floor to waist and from waist to above shoulder level.
B. Between 5-15% of the time, must be able to bend or stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, crouch and push or pulla load.
C. Correctable hearing, visual and color acuity required.
D. Average manual dexterity in the use of a PC, phone, sorting, filing and other office machines.
E. % of shift, including breaks, is spent standing — 10%, walking — 15%, and sitting — 75%.
