Fall Cruise 2008 - One week and one day away, Here's the checklist..

It's close to bieng that time again, we only have 8 days left!

Don't forget:

1) Money to get in the gate. 10$ to get in, 5$ for a tech card.
2) Safety gear, I.e. Helmet, firepants, jacket, gloves etc..
3) You MUST wear long pants and a regular shirt - no sleeveless shirts.
4) Sunscreen - trust me on this one.
5) Cameras
6) Your 5$ bills for the turbo giveaway.
7) Shoe polish for the bracket racers.
8) Excuses for getting drug

Please, as usual, add to this list...

A few notes -

1) street tire cars PLEASE drive around the water.
2) Roll your windows up.
3) Don't run with the A/C on, and don't use it in the staging lanes
4) Don't burnout in the pits, staging lanes etc..You won't be told twice.
5) If you suspect you have problems... PULL OVER, don't leak all the way down the track.
6) Courtesy staging in BOTH classes. If you don't do this - you will be backed out. If the 2nd driver "accepts" a non-courtesy stage, it's a race.


We will be running KODFWS as usual, Pro Tree, Door Slammers only, anything goes.

We will also be running bracket races - NO ELECTRONICS, NO TRANSBRAKES, FOOTBRAKE ONLY. This class is intended for our regular memebers, not a ringer.

The turbo giveaway will happen at 3:30. You must be present to win. If the turbo is not claimed in 10 minutes - we'll draw another ticket.

Turbodave will be there with some turbos, hotdogs and cokes. Be sure to stop by and say hi to him.

Also, Burleson Powdercoating will be there as well with powdercoating samples - Be sure to stop and see them as well. They do beautiful work.

It's a cruise and track day. Most of the action is for fun. It depends on what you are looking for to determine whether or not it is worth it for you. There are some pretty serious grudge matches that pop up, usually preceeded by a ton of shit talk on here, but if you are looking to set up serious money races then it may not be what you are looking for.

8.6's are middle of the pack, so you'd be faster than about half the cars..... And trucks.

There will be plenty in the mid 8's, but the best part is meeting people you have talked to here and hanging out. At least from my perspective. I wasn't sure if you were talking 8's in the 1/4 or 1/8th, now I see. There are some pretty fast cars out there but there will also be some slow cars (9 sec plus). In fact, many people who go to these only race at these events, so many cars don't record times as quickly as they should.

If I had DR's I would be a good race for you. I averaged 8.7's with a handful of 8.6's on DR's but the best I have done on street tires is 8.9.

The good thing is that the track prep is usually kick ass at these.. Far better than typical TnT.

I'm going for the slowest trailer car award out there :D, only reason for trailering a slow car is due not knowing if something is going to break on it and plus the tags and inspection are out.

Just go to one and you will see why all of us keep coming back over and over again. These cruises are a blast! Brooks and his helpers do a great job everytime and TXR always provides a great facility.

Dont talk yourself out of it. Bring your car, race, dont race, watch, take pictures, check out the women, eat the food, make fun of Brooks whatever. There IS something there for you.

It's not required for 8.50's, but it's ALWAYS a good idea even if you have to borrow one.

they usually have one at the track you can rent or borrow.
