Really? nothing. Not trying to prove anything. Just would like to see how many units have failed. I know that the X360 has failed more, but, I have seen a few of Dead PS3 threads lately.

Hey the first times you sent it in did you have to have it registered? I bought the 360 brand new but from someone, hence I didn't have a receipt. It's the 360 that came with forza & marvel alliance pack that has hdmi hookup.

Standard 360 fixed 3 times for three red lights and now the video card has gone out. Its awaiting its fate on my computer desk at the moment. I will probably buy an elite and say screw this one.

I've had two PS3s fail on me. No way to prove it, but I think it might have been my fault due to where I was keeping it. I'm guessing it was overheating. I moved where I keep it, and haven't had a problem since.

I sold my old 360 to a friend of a friend and he called me and told me that he got the RRoD. Had to call MS because it was still registered in my name. It was from the second wave of 360's that came out after launch.

Have an 80GB PS3 and I love it.

Same here, in all versions of each model, including both launch versions and I've never had a problem with either. It's amazing to me how many others have had problems though.

I've had two 360's and the first died 1 week after I bought it. The second (walmart trick) lasted about a year and died. Hopefully #3 lasts me awhile. :D

I lost my first one (60gig) due to the cabinet space I had it in under my 56" TV. I moved it next to the TV mounted sideways in the open and leave it on 24/7 with no issues.

I've actually seen several Wii's fail. Mine was making all kinds of noises before I sold it and I've got two buddies who have had one die.

My UPS shipping label to return my xbox to MS for the warranty repair has an address of 4250 Samuell Blvd in Mesquite. Does anyone know if I can just drop it off and save some shipping time? It would be better than dropping it off at UPS to give to them.

Whats funny is there is a UPS shipping warehouse/customer service center right across the street at 4200 Samuell Blvd. I am going to try and take it there tomorrow. If they don't take it, I will just walk across the street and drop it off.

My 1st 360 died right at 1 year...my 2nd 360 (current) is still running (just over a year), but I recently had to turn it on it's side as it would not read a brand new disc sitting upright and would lock up. Hasn't locked up since, so I may turn it back on it's end and force it to RRoD so I can get a new one...I'd rather it happen sooner than later...

On my second 360. Mine failed about a month after I got it. I took it back to Sams and they exchanged it.

Just FYI for you guys - I have an inside track on this stuff.

All of the current run 360's are much better built - MS changed outsource vendors for not only assembly but also for a lot of the individual components. However, just be aware that there are still some of the previous builds out there being sold discounted as new.

Not saying they are perfect and free of issues now, but the last metrics I saw indicated greater than 50% in improvement in console quality....that's pretty significant.

...just make sure you are getting one of the newer builds. Also - A lot of people do not realize it, but the #1 Xbox killer is actually heat....so be careful where you have it placed. Inside of an entertainment center and/or with other AV equipment stacked on or around it is never a good idea.

I had one of those fan units attached to the back of mine. Didn't matter it appeared. Good info though
